The draft may be six weeks away, but it’s still relatively early in the season for Northeast teams. RHP Mike Nikorak (Stroudsburg HS, PA) took the hill Friday, making just his fifth appearance of the 2015 season. It was heavily attended as a few dozen scouts were in attendance, including several scouting directors.
An Alabama recruit, Nikorak overmatched opposing hitters even though his stuff was inconsistent. He went five innings—the game was shortened by the mercy rule—striking out 10 while walking four and allowing one hit.
