For college programs, recruiting is never done and moves at a breakneck pace. While many of the top juniors in the country have made verbal commitments, there is still plenty of talent still out there. At the same time, it’s not a bad thing to be uncommitted as an underclassman. We’ve recently looked at the top available pitchers and catchers. Next up, we have infielders with the potential of contributing at the next level.
Alex Adams, SS, Lafayette HS, MO
Adams, a lean, 6-foot-1, 185-pound shortstop, represented Team Missouri in the Future Games. At the plate, he has an exit velocity of 88 mph and runs a 4.54-second home-to-first time. He has a wide set-up, smooth load and consistently hits hard line drives in the gaps during batting practice. He has loose hands and quick bat speed. On defense, he uses an over-the-top release, moves well to the ball with fluid footwork and a clean transfer while making accurate throws with carry.
