Summer Update: Class of 2020 Rankings
July 3, 2018
As members of the Pennsylvania Class of 2020 begin their summer schedules and prepare for their junior year of high school baseball our latest update to our state rankings includes the addition of 15 new players to the list with two new players moving into the top ten. The current list now stands at 100 players with 23 players having already announced a college commitment, including 18 of the top 25. Look for that number to grow significantly by the next update to the rankings in this class in September. An update to the current PBR Class of 2020 overall rankings will follow in the near future.
There is no movement at No. 1 and doesn't appear with left-handed hitting Austin Hendrick (West Allegheny) continuing to headline this class. The Mississippi State commit is arguably the top left-handed bat in the nation with current home run power that has already been on display on the national circuit this summer.
New to the top ten in this update are switch-hitting 3B Luke Storm (Easton Area) and right-handed hitting 3B Tyler Joseph (Moravian Academy). Storm, a Duke commit, stands out with his 6-foot-5, 220-pound frame and power from both sides of the plate. Joseph, an Army commit, continues to show the ability to consistently hit against quality pitching at the national level.

Scouting Report
6/24/18 - (Tournament of Stars): Hendrick's bat speed has translated to hard contact all week. In his second at-bat, he squared up a single and then hammered his home run over the trees in right-center. He also just missed a grand slam, send a sacrifice fly to deep right field. He finished with two RBIs and three runs scored on the day.
6/20/18 - (Tournament of Stars): has a funky set-up with his feet close together and front heel raised, but his quick hands produce electric bat speed. He takes aggressive hacks, over swinging at times, but can punish the baseball. He walked twice and squared up a single through the right side in the game.
4/8/17 5-foot-10, 180-pound left-handed hitter demonstrated raw athleticism and bat speed that make him an elite prospect in the class of 2020. Bat speed allows Hendrick to see the ball deep before committing. Despite an unorthodox, extremely narrow stance and pre-pitch load Hendrick achieves above average separation by stepping and rotating away from his hands. Hips and hands are extremely quick.
