Spotlight Game of the Day: Pleasant Valley 4 Nazareth 1

Radford recruit Dan Hrbek quieted the Nazareth offense to the tune of five hits in seven innings while yielding just one unearned run. The result was a 4-1 Pleasant Valley win dropping the Blue Eagles to 1-2 on the season. Hrbek finished the day with 10 strikeouts and did not walk a batter throwing 66 of his 95 pitches for strikes.
Pleasant Valley had just six hits themselves but were aided by two Nazareth errors and three walks. Hrbek helped himself at the plate with a double and an RBI in three trips. Howie Stevens went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI as well.
Dan Horvath suffered the loss for the Blue Eagles in spite of a strong effort. Horvath went four innings with eight strikeouts and three walks. Anthony Gaetaniello and Pat Laudenbach each doubled to fuel the Nazareth offense.
