Scouting Report

6/15/21

Physical: Athletic, super projectable 6-foot-4, 165lb frame with length in the actions. 7.13 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Upright, shoulder-width start as the hands featured slight rhythm on the shoulder. Utilized a leg lift and front side turn upon footstrike allowing for good hip drive and a slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Created a lot of lift and extension/leverage at the front of the plate with adjustability in the approach, yielding hard barrels over the middle of the field during batting practice. Worked his way up to a T91 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball and should be able to slot into a middle of the order role down the line as he holds additional strength. Recorded a peak rotational acceleration of 20+ G’s via Blast Motion, pointing towards extra-base hits through the LCF gap at will.

Defensively: The primary shortstop showcased a hop in the “prep step” showing confident hands that extended loosely out in front of the body, playing softly and funneling back into the chest. Good pace and natural feel in space, covering ground to both sides with a quick release from high ¾ (85 mph arm, carry).

Pitching: RHP - Started off the middle of the rubber with a fast pace into the stack and a drop/drive approach down the slope with above-average intent through H ¾. Peppered the zone at 79-82 mph with quality carry traits towards the plate; showed feel for a 69-71 mph CB at 11/5 tilt up to 12 inches of HM via Trackman. Countered with a 72-75 mph CH killing spin at just under 1100rpms AVG for occasional fade off the plate.
