PROGRESS Report

Last Look Notes: June 15, 2021 | PA State Games | The highly-efficient right-handed hitter continued taking steps forward with a more complete extra-base hit approach with the usual feel to hit. Utilized tight turns on the inner half to record a 90 mph bat-exit velocity and then featured a clean sheet of reps during defensive evaluations with near 4.00 second footwork. An 83 mph arm-strength hints at a stay on the left side moving forward with plenty more to come.
Recent Improvements: February 22, 2022 | PAS Mohawk Valley | Arrived with some physicality, now standing at a thicker 5-foot-8, 165lbs. Measurables saw a bump across the board, most notably a 99 mph peak bat-exit velocity and 93 mph average, which bypassed his peak from only eight months ago by +3 mph. Bat-speed, distance, and hand-speed all saw an upward tick, producing one of the best batting practice rounds of the event. Black proceeded to glide around the diamond with attacking posture and unloaded a much improved 90 mph arm-strength to the target, showing carry. Considering the quick-rising status over the past year coupled with his current frame, there's a lot to be intrigued about in the coming months.
