Preseason All-State Showcase Spotlight: 2021 C/OF Jack Giovenco

The Preseason All-State Showcase annually draws in excess of 100 of the top uncommitted prospects in the state. This winter's event will take place over two days at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim on February 16th and 17th.
As we draw closer to February we will be periodically highlighting some of the prospects scheduled to participate. Today we continue our preview with a look at 2021 C/OF Jack Giovenco.
Scouting Report
9.23.18 - 6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and utilizes a leg-lift stride to initiate his swing. Showcased a direct swing path with a strong lower half and a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. Ran a 7.07 60-yard dash and displayed pop times of 2.08-2.15 on throws of 70 mph from the crouch. Also displayed athletic actions in the outfield with accurate 75 mph arm strength to home plate.
1.28.18 - 5-foot-11, 155-pound backstop showcased pop times of 2.24-2.31 on throws of 66 mph from the crouch. Stays directional with a short arm swing, but footwork will need to be cleaned up. Right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Displayed a solid fee for the barrel with a line drive approach resulting in a bat exit velocity of 73 mph. Showcased good feet running a 7.19 60-yard dash. Overall game will benefit from strength gains through physical maturity.
