Preseason All-State Showcase Spotlight: 2020 RHP/SS Michael Kilker

The Preseason All-State Showcase annually draws in excess of 100 of the top uncommitted prospects in the state. This winter's event will take place over two days at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim on February 16th and 17th.
As we draw closer to February we will be periodically highlighting some of the prospects scheduled to participate. Today we continue our preview with a look at 2020 RHP/SS Michael Kilker.

Scouting Report
2018 PBR Future Games - Team Pennsylvania
6/20/18 - Athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame. Primary pitcher sat 83-85 while touching 86-87 at times during his three innings of work. Starts his delivery with a short, side-rocker step and delivers from a mid-3/4 arm slot. Changeup is thrown with above average sell at 75-77 and curveball has good depth at 71-73. Very live arm that is likely to be upper 80s by this time next year. Two-way prospect ran a 7.60 60-yard dash and displayed 82 mph arm strength defensively. Size and defensive actions would be best suited for an eventual move to third base. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and he initiates his swing with a leg-hang stride. Displayed an above average feel for the baseball in BP with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Went 5-for-7 with a triple in game action over two days.
8/17/17 - 6-foot, 160-pound primary pitcher sat 78-80 from a high 3/4 arm slot. Initiates balanced delivery with a side rocker step and stays balanced throughout. Changeup is currently best secondary offering at 73-74 with some arm side run. Curveball displayed 11/5 rotation with limited break at this stage in its development. Right-handed hitter battled through a finger injury to take a solid round of batting practice. Starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his lower half with a leg-hang stride. An upper half dominated swing produced a bat exit velocity of 75 mph. Showcased a quick release from a 3/4 arm slot defensively with 73 mph arm strength across the diamond and ran a 7.30 60-yard dash.
