PBR Spotlight Games for May 30th
May 30, 2012
Weather forced the cancellation of Tuesday's WPIAL Championship games and caused a revamped schedule to be set up. Wednesday's scheduled games will be played at their regular times, and the AA Championship game originally scheduled for Tuesday has been rescheduled for a 3:00pm start preceding the A and AAAA games.
The AAA Championship will now be played on Thursday at 7:00pm. All games will still be played at Consol Energy Park in Washington, PA.
The AAAA Championship will pit Mt. Lebanon against No. 9 Seneca Valley. Mt. Lebanon has been led by Ian Happ and Luke Hagy. Hagy led off the Norwin game with a solo home run, Happ followed with a two-run home run in the third inning of the game to help down the previous No. 1 ranked Knights. Seneca Valley is one of the hotter teams in AAAA baseball and will likely look to quiet Mt. Lebanon's bats with the right arm of Matt Smith.
The A Championship will involve No. 18 California taking on Neshannock, last year's WPIAL A champions. California will likely send hard throwing T.D Conway to the mound to face a stellar Neshannock offense led by Florida State commit John Sansone.
