The PA Top Prospect Games were held at Metro Bank Park in Harrisburg, PA on October 6 and 7. Today we take a look at the prospects who participated as members of the Grey Team.

                                      

Gordon Stone, OF/SS, Class of 2013, West Perry HS
Stone is a 5-foot-4, 140-pound OF/SS who throws 72mph from his outfield position. He used a short stroke and a flat swing plane to hit baseballs to all fields during batting practice. Stone had a 6th inning RBI to help the White Team defeat the Grey Team.

Ben Bomberger, OF/RHP, Class of 2014, Manheim Central HS
Bomberger topped all outfield arms at the event with throws of 84mph. The 5-foot-7, 145-pound prospect ran a 7.25 60-yard dash and showcased an 82mph bat exit speed. Bomberger topped out at 77mph from the mound with a 68mph curveball in two scoreless innings of work. 

Scott Snyder, LHP, Class of 2013, Blue Mountain HS
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound lefty threw two innings in Game #2, yielding two runs on three hits. Snyder topped out at 73mph with a fastball that showed some arm side run. He also demonstrated command of a 65mph curveball with a 2/8 break. Snyder uses a compact, repeatable delivery leading to lots of strikes.

Kevin Begley, C/3B, Class of 2013, Deer Lakes HS
Begley had the best pop times at the event at 2.02-2.13 on throws of 72mph from the crouch. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound backstop showcased a 79mph bat exit speed. Begley used a short stroke with a strong lower half to square baseballs consistently during a solid round of batting practice. In game play, Begley went 2-for-3 with a first inning RBI to get the White Team stared.

Austin Logan, SS/RHP, Class of 2013, Beaver HS
Logan had an impressive event in all facets of the game. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound SS/RHP ran a 7.00 60-yard dash, and showcased a strong arm during defensive evaluations. Logan used an 87mph bat exit speed to drive balls to the gaps during his round of batting practice. He then demonstrated his athleticism by moving to the mound and topping out at 85mph with good arm side run. Logan also mixed in a quality slider with good depth at 73mph.

Dalton Garlock, 2B/3B, Class of 2014, McConnellsburg HS
Garlock had a strong round of batting practice that saw him spray line drives to all fields. The 5-foot-7, 165-pound junior showcased an 80mph bat exit speed and ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Garlock showed the ability to play through the baseball and good range from his infield position.

Richard Perry, OF/RHP, Class of 2013, Northwestern HS
At 6-foot-4, 185-pounds, Perry has projectable size. He ran a 7.40 60-yard dash and showcased one of the better outfield arms at the event at 81mph. Perry worked a scoreless inning on the mound topping out at 77mph from a high 3/4 arm slot. Perry also commanded a 68mph slider and a 66mph curveball.

Dan Bowman, RHP, Class of 2013, Central Cambria HS
Bowman is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound RHP with potential. He worked two innings in Game #2, yielding one hit and one run. Bowman topped out at 83mph from a high 3/4 arm slot with some arm side run to his fastball. He also showed command of his 68mph curveball with an 11/5 break. Bowman looks to have much more in the tank and could see a spike in velocity very soon.

Trevor Seibel, 2B/3B, Class of 2013, Ephrata HS
Seibel had a very solid round of batting practice in which he used a short stroke to square baseballs consistently to all fields. In game play, Seibel led off the third inning for the White team with a single and later came around to score his team's third run. Seibel ran a 7.5 60-yard dash and a 67mph bat exit speed.

Nat Hughes, C, Class of 2013, Anville-Cleona HS
Hughes displayed pop times of 2.07-2.15 on throws of 74mph from the crouch. The 5-foot-9, 205-pound catcher has solid receiving and blocking skills. Hughes showcased one of the better bat exit speeds of the day at 88mph. He used quick hands and a strong lower half to drive baseball repeatedly to both gaps during his round of batting practice.

Troy Glendenning, 1B/3B, Class of 2013, Kiski Area HS
At 6-foot-4 and 255-pounds Glendenning looks like he should be headed to the football field, but looks can be deceiving. He shows good mobility around the bag and ran a 7.62 60-yard dash on a wet track. He showcased an event best 97mph bat exit speed and drove balls all over the park during a solid round of batting practice. In game play, Glendenning used left field and right field for two line drive singles, and capped his day off with a triple to the center field wall that one hopped the 430' sign. He has little wasted movement in his swing and will continue to improve as he learns to stay inside the baseball more frequently.
