Northern Bedford County outfielder Garret England is currently a Panther but as of next fall he will officially become a Tomcat. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound senior announced this week that he has committed to play his college baseball at Thiel.
The Panthers went 18-3 in 2012 and England played a major role in their success. He finished the season hitting .393 with 18 runs scored and 12 RBI. While his numbers in 2013 are not at the same level, the season is very young and the ability to get outdoors has been sporadic.
To date, Northern Bedford County is 5-2 and England is hitting .273. The future Tomcat has made an impact this season on the pitching staff as well, making three appearances, including one start. He is 1-0 with a 3.09 ERA in 11.1 innings of work.
