Looking Ahead To 2022
January 5, 2022
Happy New Year baseball fans. Let’s look ahead to 2022 and see what it may have in store for us. We may not know when big leaguers will take the field again, but at least high school seasons are back to starting on time across the country. As always, you can expect our boots-on-the-ground staff to bring you thorough coverage all year. A few of our state directors offered up storylines to follow for 2022.
ALABAMA: Bringing High School Team Events To The Yellowhammer State
While high school baseball always produces plenty of excitement across the state, this year PBR Alabama is really looking forward to our first-ever high school team events. The first event will help start the spring, as the Kickoff Classic will be held February 18-19 at Hoover and Vestavia Hills High Schools. Programs from across the state that will be participating in the event are Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Oak Mountain, Hartselle, Cullman, Russell County, Mobile Christian and Oxford. In conjunction with PBR Tennessee, we will also be hosting the Stateline Showdown March 16-19 at Hazel Green HS, AL, and Lincoln County HS, TN. Four teams from Alabama will play four teams from Tennessee in a round robin format. The four teams from Alabama are Sparkman, Grissom, Huntsville and Hazel Green while the Tennessee representatives are Riverdale, Lincoln County, Trinity Christian Academy and Knoxville Catholic.
