Inside the Northeast Procase: 2023 MIF/RHP Sean Finn (Springside Chestnut Hill/Connecticut commit)

Dan Cevette
President, NY/PA

The Northeast Procase will take place February 20, 2022 at the Liberty Arena in Williamsport, PA. This event marks the 2nd annual event where committed players from NY/NJ/PA will be on full display showing off all of their hard work this preseason. Currently this event is shaping up to be the most talent filled preseason event in our NY/PA history with 80+ players headed to Williamsport. Of those current 75 players, 17 players are committed to Power 5 conferences.

INSIDE THE NORTHEAST PROCASE

Sean Finn SS / RHP / Springside Chestnut Hill, PA / 2023

Finn stands 5-foot-10, 175-pounds and is no stranger to the PBR system having attending a handful of events over the previous three years. One of my favorite players, Finn shows the ability to play both MIF and Pitch at the next-level. He is currently the No. 14 ranked player in PA (2023 class) and is verbally committed to University of Connecticut.

At the plate he uses a relaxed approach, feet shoulder width a part. Small stride on the pitch for timing, short and compact barrel path to the ball, produces above average bat-speed (95 mph) and consistent contact. Very aggressive. Defensively he moves well laterally (7.1 60), lower half is active and clean, glove work is well trained, soft hands and shows the ability to throw from multiple arm-slots. Arm strength is some of the best in his class.

On the mound he works from a steady tempo, front knee-lift coils back towards 2nd Base, drives efficiently down the mound keeping his body in sync. Arm-swing is clean and he releases the ball from a power 3/4 slot. FB peaks 90 mph with arm-side run. Finn also shows the ability to spin an 10/5 shape breaking ball with confidence. I am personally very excited to see him workout at the Northeast Procase.
