Inside Look: Top Uncommitted Corner Infielders in Pennsylvania

As the early signing period draws closer for the Class of 2018 a host of talented prospects across the state have yet to make an announcement on their college plans. Today we continue a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects in Pennsylvania with a look at the top corner infielders still available in our PA Class of 2018 rankings.

Hunter Hall

Hunter Hall3B / OF / NORTH ALLEGHENY, PA / 2018

6/13/17 6-foot-2, 215-pounder stood out physically with impressive measurables across the board running a 6.94 60-yard dash, showcasing 81 mph arm strength and fluid actions at third base and flashing an event record 101 mph bat exit velocity. Currently ranked No. 93 in the PA Class of 2018, Hall put together a very solid two days that will likely see him make a jump in the next rankings update. Over the course of two games the right-handed hitter went 4-for-8 at the plate with a double. Hall showcased excellent body control for a player his size defensively while displaying the ability to make throws from multiple arm angles

Colin Cain 3B / RHP / North Allegheny, PA / 2018

7/6/16 6-foot-4, 180-pound athletic build. At third base he showed good athleticism and movement. Soft hands, fielding out in front, then funneling it into his body before throwing from a high-¾ slot with 78 mph arm strength across the diamond.On mound, tall, thin body frame that projects nicely. He uses quick arm speed, and uses a little bit of a hip load to help generate velocity from his lower half. His fastball was thrown between 80-82 mph. His breaking ball already has sharp break, with good depth at 67-69 mph. Has a tendency to slow his body down when he throws his changeup at 71-72.

Braden Brose 1B / 3B / Hempfield Area, PA / 2018

6/15/16 6-foot-4, 225-pound two-way prospect will likely make the move across the diamond based on his size and potential to be a power hitter. Right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a heel-raise stride. Went 2-for-6 in game action while barreling several other baseballs with a bat exit velocity of 90 mph. Displayed good hands and solid arm strength (79 mph) defensively and ran an impressive 7.06 60-yard dash for a player his size. Righty sat 76-78 with natural cut to his fastball out of a high 3/4 arm slot. Also flashed a 63 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation during game action.

Connor Dewees 3B / RHP / Red Lion Area, PA / 2018

7/18/17 5-foot-11, 180-pound primary third baseman made a number of athletic defensive plays and displayed the ability to man the hot corner at the next level. Has showcased 80 mph arm strength across the diamond and 7.21 60-yard dash at previous PBR events. The right-handed hitter went 5-for-10 with two walks and a double in game action over the course of the two day event. Sat 78-81 out of a high 3/4 arm slot on the mound while also commanding a 11/5 breaking curveball at 61-63 and a slider at 73-74. Worked three solid innings, allowing one run while inducing five ground ball outs.

Billy Collins 1B / North Penn, PA / 2018

9/23/17 Physical 6-foot-3, 230-pound right-handed hitter took the top round of batting practice on the day, routinely barreling the baseball with authority, including a long home run over the 35 foot wall in left field. Displayed consistent ability to backspin the baseball with present power and a bat exit velocity of 95 mph. Went 2-for-5 with a double in game action while barreling the baseball in every at bat. Showcased solid 84 mph arm strength across the diamond and capable footwork around the bag at first base.

Max Cebulak 3B / RHP / Pittsburgh Central Catholic, PA / 2018

8/26/175-foot-11, 200-pound right-handed hitter initiates swing from neutral set up with a knee-to-knee leg kick and stride while staying neutral. He works well away from hands with solid weight shift and good separation. There is significant arm bar and tendency to pull bat threw zone with front side lending to front shoulder pulling off and difficulty staying on plane. There is considerable bat speed with a 91 mph bat exit velocity registered. Defensively, hands and range are adequate. Arm strength is sufficient to stay on left side of infield. On the mound, right-hander works from a high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball sat 81-82 on this day but was recently seen at 84. There is substantial run and sink to fastball. Curveball thrown at 71-72 had 11/5 shape and late, sharp break with good depth. Changeup sat 72-74 and was thrown at fastball arm speed with good sell and considerable arm side fade.
