Independent Schools Pitcher of the Year: RHP Pat Valentine

Pat ValentinePBR's 2013 Independent Schools Pitcher of the Year is Pat Valentine from The Haverford School. Holy Cross-bound Valentine (7-2, 2.44, 39 H, 24 BB, 66 K in 60.1 IP) was a rock for the Fords, who captured the 2013 PAISAA tournament championship.

Valentine's single-game accomplishments were numerous. He handed Malvern Prep its only regular-season Inter-Ac loss. He authored two no-hitters, a five-inning gem against Penn Charter and a six-inning masterpiece against Episcopal Academy (with the only base-runner reaching on a two-out error in the last inning). Valentine also starred in the PAISAA quarterfinal against The Hill School with a complete game effort and home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to provide the final margin in the 2-1 victory.
