Game of the Day: Pine-Richland at Mt. Lebanon

A two-run double by Penn State commit Matt Wood broke open a 2-2 tie in the top of the 5th inning and propelled Pine-Richland to a season opening 5-2 win over Mt. Lebanon on Monday. Kent State commit Josh Johnson followed with a single, a stolen base, and a run scored on a Craig Kunkel single.
The three-run rally made Clarion commit Bryce Grenet the winner. The right-hander went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six with no walks. Josh Scherer tossed the final two innings to pick up the save for the Rams.
Jacob Weinberg and Vanderbilt commit Troy LaNeve set the table for the Pine-Richland offense scoring four of the Rams runs with a hit and a walk each. Weinberg (home run), JD Armstrong (double) and Wood (double) recorded extra base hits for the Rams.
Ethan Cuccarese and Cam Kennedy led the Mt. Lebanon offense with two hits each.
