Owen J. Roberts 6, Perkiomen Valley 5

Second-seed Owen J. Roberts recorded ten hits and took advantage of freebies from Perkiomen Valley (four walks, four wild pitches, three errors) to advance to Wednesday night's championship game. Junior left-handed pitcher Corey Hennessey (6.1 IP, 9 H, 1 BB, 2 K) picked up the win for the Wildcats.

Riley McGinleyA back-and-forth affair through the middle innings had runs tallied in five straight frames during one stretch. OJR broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI triple from junior second baseman Riley McGinley (right), then extended the lead to 6-3 with a run-scoring single from junior second baseman Griffin Hensley and sac fly from senior third baseman Blake McCort.

The Vikings made one last push in their half of the seventh. After the first two hitters were retired, four straight hits followed by a hit-by-pitch loading the bases put the tying run at third base before senior reliever Grant Fitzsimmons finally quelled the threat.

Junior first baseman Nate Yoder (3-4, 3 doubles, 2 RBI) and senior designated hitter Andrew Bergman (3-4, RBI, SB) carried the offense for the Vikings, who will now gear up for the District I class AAAA tournament beginning next week.

Spring-Ford 9, Boyertown Area 4

An injury-plagued season saw preseason favorite Spring-Ford stumble to a fourth place regular-season finish in the PAC-10, which included a home-and-home sweep at the hands top-seeded Boyertown by scores of 6-2 and 11-1. Despite missing three line-up regulars for its third shot at the Bears, the Rams put this one away early with a seven-run top of the second inning, and survived a shaky bottom of the seventh (that included having a no-hitter broken up) to advance to the championship game.

Zach SmileyThree hard-hit balls, including two loud outs in the top of the first portended what was to come the following inning. Two singles, a sac bunt, and a walk loaded the bases with one out for Spring-Ford, which then got RBI from five of its next six hitters, highlighted by a two-run single from Immaculata-bound third baseman Zach Smiley (right), who added a two-RBI double the following inning to extend the lead to 9-0.

That was more than enough run support for Stony Brook-bound right-handed pitcher Bret Clarke, who didn't allow a hit until Bears leadoff man Daulton Hughes knocked a clean single to center with one out in the final stanza. It wasn't an uneventful outing for Clarke, as he walked five and hit three to go along with his ten strikeouts, but he always seemed to have a little bit extra in the tank with runners on base.

Seven members of Spring-Ford's line-up notched multi-hit games as the Rams out-hit the Bears sixteen to five. Hughes reached base three times for Boyertown, drawing two walks prior to his seventh inning single.
