District 3 AA: upper dauphin 4, lancaster catholic 0
Fresh off a 4-3 opening round win over Annville-Cleona, Upper Dauphin scored single runs in four of seven innings to knock of the No. 1 seed in District 3 4-0. Aided by some suspect defense from Lancaster Catholic and using small ball early, the Trojans cruised to victory.
Junior right-hander Kyle Glouner (right) went the distance for the win yielding just three hits. He used just 87 pitches, striking out six while not issuing a walk. Glouner was aided by an Upper Dauphin defense that did not commit an error on the evening.
Senior Dylan Lesher paced the Trojans' eight hit attack going 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Glouner aided his own cause with a double and an RBI.
Freshman lefty Dillon Marsh was the hard luck loser working 5.1 innings. He allowed six hits with two hits while striking out eight.
With the win Upper Dauphin advances to play York Catholic, the District 3 No. 5 seed, in the semifinals with an automatic bid to the state tournament on the line. Lancaster Catholic's season ends with a record of 16-6.
