Penn Charter 11, Perkiomen School 9

Perkiomen School jumped out to a 6-1 lead after three innings, but Penn Charter stormed back to score ten of the next eleven runs before ending the game with a 9-2-6-2 putout on a play that began with the tying run on first base. The Panthers needed only four hits (along with four walks and a handful of PC defensive miscues) to build their early lead. The Quakers then clubbed their way back in the game, banging out 10 hits (including four for extra bases) over the final four frames.

Kenny BergmannWith two out and none on in the bottom of the seventh down four runs, four straight Panthers hitters reached base to put the tying run on first base for clean-up hitter Tom Aaron. The '15 3B lined a one-hopper past first base, scoring one run, but the runner from first base didn't see the runner from second being held up at third. Penn Charter catcher Kenny Bergmann (right) vacated home plate to run at the runner caught between second and third. As Bergmann delivered the ball to SS Steve Cohen (Lafayette), the runner from 3B broke for home, but Bergmann was able to beat him back to the plate and apply the tag for the final out.

Aaron reached base all five plate appearances (three 1B, two BB) to lead Perkiomen School offensively. '15 3B Steve Brown and '15 OF Gabe Smith both hit home runs, while Cohen went 4-5 with two doubles for Penn Charter.
