Game Recap: Northern York at East Pennsboro
April 24, 2018
In a key mid-season Mid-Penn Capital Division game with plenty of playoff implications Northern York (10-2, 8-1) topped East Pennsboro (5-4, 4-2) on Monday 5-1.
Freshman right-hander Michael Morales, who recently announced a verbal commitment to Vanderbilt, worked around a walk and an error in the first inning, but Northern York was able to get on the board on an RBI single from Misericordia commit Owen McKeever.
McKeever added three more RBI in the second inning to extend the Polar Bears' lead to 4-0 on a double to left-center.
Zach Garlinger, a Team Pennsylvania selection for the 2018 PBR Future Games, came on in relief in the 3rd inning and gave the Panthers a chance. The 2020 RHP worked 4.2 scoreless innings of relief allowing no hits, but East Pennsboro could only muster one run in the bottom of the 3rd inning.
McKeever led all offensive performers with a 2-for-4 night with a double and four RBI.
