Game Recap: District III - Class AAA Championship
May 30, 2018
Senior lefty Dillon Marsh, a Kentucky recruit, tossed a shutout against Oley Valley in the 2017 District III - Class 3A championship game. Almost a year to the day later, he did it again.
Marsh allowed four hits, two of the infield variety, and struck out 10 Lynx batters in a dominant performance. For good measure, Marsh hit a long home run to right-center field at the home of the Reading Phillies to ignite a three run rally in the top of the 7th inning to put an exclamation on the win.

The Crusaders got a one out RBI single from 2019 2B Alex Kukic in the top of the 2nd inning to take an early 1-0 lead.
Oley Valley looked to be in prime position to not only answer, but potentially put together a big inning in the bottom half of the 2nd. After loading the bases to start the inning Marsh got a strikeout, handled an attempted suicide squeeze calmly for the second out, and then retired the final hitter of the inning on strikes.
Lancaster Catholic added three runs in the 6th and 7th to break open a pitchers' duel and won going away. Cam Barto (2-3, R, RBI), Daniel Gonzalez (2-4, 2 R, RBI) and Nick Breznak (2-3, 2B, 3B, R) led the Crusaders 11 hit attack.
Lancaster Catholic will open PIAA state playoff action on June 4th where they will play the runner-up from District 12. Oley Valley will play the District 12 champion on the same date. Conwell-Egan and String Theory will play June 1st to determine the District 12 championship.
