Less than a month and a half remains until PBR Pennsylvania's Elite Prospect Showcase on November 7th at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim. Today, we continue our series of previews on prospects who will be in attendance, as we highlight Franklin Regional 2017 two-way performer Michael Haley.
At this summer's PA Underclass Games, Haley routinely barreled the baseball in game action, showing a simple approach and ability to occasionally generate loft. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound left-handed hitter currently has gap power and has recorded a peak exit velocity of 83-mph. Defensively, he has shown solid arm strength (73-mph from the crouch) and workout pop times of 2.21-2.29, with room to improve as he syncs his feet with his exchange. On the mound, Haley's fastball has clocked in the low-80s out of a high three-quarter slot. He has a clean arm action with some armspeed, which portends additional velocity to come.
