Corner Infielders Analysis: Week 4 of Fall College Prospect Program

1B Zach Craven, McKeesport HS, Class of 2014

Craven continued to swing a hot stick going 1-for-2 in game action at Slippery Rock University. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect has been consistent at the plate all fall, showcasing an ability to use all fields. Craven has shown the ability to shorten his swing and consistently finds a way to drive in runs when hitting with runners in scoring position.

Eric Fairman1B/OF Eric Fairman, Thomas Jefferson HS, Class of 2014

Fairman has positioned himself for a significant jump in the class rankings when they are next updated in October. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-handed hitter has displayed legitimate power potential and has produced at the plate in several fall program stops. Fairman went 2-for-3 with a double in game action at Slippery Rock University.

3B Garett Goslaw, Butler HS, Class of 2015

Goslaw showcased developing skills at 3B with the ability to play the baseball on the move. He displayed a soft glove hand and throws of 77 mph across the diamond. The right-handed hitter has shown promise at several fall stops, going 2-for-7 in game action over the course of the weekend. Goslaw uses his lower half very well to create a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound prospect has an athletic frame and continues to improve every time we see him.

1B Seth Holler, Greater Latrobe HS, Class of 2015

Holler has a very projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 205-pounds. The right-handed hitter utilizes a leg lift stride and showcased some pop in his round of batting practice. Holler consistently barreled the baseball and displayed a bat exit velocity of 85 mph. He moves well around the bag at 1B and showed accurate throws of 72 mph across the diamond.

3B/2B Jordan Kowalski, Knoch HS, Class of 2015

Kowalski is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound prospect that showcased the ability to play through the baseball and accurate throws of 67 mph across the diamond. He utilizes a square stance and no stride at the plate with a flat bat path through the hitting zone. Kowalski displayed the ability to use all fields and a bat exit velocity of 76 mph.

3B/OF Ronnie Krsolovic, Riverside HS (OH), Class of 2015

Krsolovic is a 6-foot-2, 165-pound prospect that showed a well-rounded skill set with a big upside. The right-handed hitter utilized a square stance and a solid lower half to create barrel whip and a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. Krsolovic has a flat swing path through the hitting zone and showed the ability to routinely barrel the baseball to all fields in batting practice. He went on to go 2-for-4 in game play at Thiel College. Krsolovic also displayed a soft glove hand and the ability to play through the baseball with throws of 72 mph across the diamond. As he continues to develop into his athletic frame, Krsolovic will be an interesting follow in this class.

RHP/1B Andrew Scherbarth, Shady Side Academy, Class of 2015

Scherbarth hits from a square stance and gets to extension regularly. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect displayed the ability to barrel the baseball routinely with a bat exit velocity of 82 mph. He showcased the ability to play through the baseball and accurate throws across the diamond of 73 mph.

3B/RHP Adam Serpa, North Hills HS, Class of 2014

Serpa is 6-foot, 185-pound prospect with a projectable frame. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 in game action at Slippery Rock University and displayed a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. Serpa showcased a 68 mph arm across the diamond in defensive evaluations and the ability to play through the baseball.

3B/RHP Dante' Vaniel, McKeesport HS, Class of 2016

Vaniel is a 6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitter that hits from a wide base with a flat bat path through the hitting zone. He showcased the ability to barrel the baseball frequently with a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. Vaniel also displayed an accurate arm with throws of 70 mph across the diamond. He went 1-for-5 over the course of two days in game action at Thiel College and at Slippery Rock University.
