Commitment Corner: 2021 RHP Jonathan Bautista (Springside Chestnut hill)

PBR: Tell us about your commitment (where). Why did you choose this school? What are you most looking forward to when you step on campus?  

Bautista: I am committed to the University of Pittsburgh. I chose the University of Pittsburgh as my potential new home for the next 4 years not only due to the baseball and the education that the school possessed but mainly because of the energy and aura I felt when I talked to the coaches. They gave me the aura that everyone is family when they step on campus which is the mot important thing I am looking forward to when I step on campus.

PBR: How is your off-season training progressing?

Bautista: My offseason training is progressing with me incorporating long toss and bullpens into my workout session so my arm is still flexible and fast twitched.

PBR: Do you have any experience with PBR? If yes, how was your experience?

Bautista:  I have three experiences with PBR and going on my fourth in the upcoming month. My experience with PBR has been amazing and was the catalyst to my recruiting process, in which, they helped me put my name out there into the eyes of different coaches locally and nationally.

PBR: Who is your biggest influence, both on the field and off?

Bautista: My biggest influences are my four brothers, my mom, and my late grandfather. They thought me that no matter what be resilient and stay determined while being extremely focused on everything you do on and off the field. 

PBR: What goals do you have for 2021 HS Season?

Bautista: My goals for my 2021 HS Season is to help my team reach and hopefully win a state title capping off my high school career. As well as, allow pro scouts to see that even though I live in the Northeast and cannot do major showcases that my resilience along with my skill proves the doubters wrong.
