2019 Elite Prospect Showcase Spotlight: 2021 3B Mike Gregos

The Elite Prospect Showcase annually showcases many of the top uncommitted prospects across the state and from a few surrounding states. 2019 marks the 7th year for this event with more than 200 former participants having gone on to college commitments and a handful to professional baseball.
As we draw closer to the end of October we will be periodically highlighting some of the prospects scheduled to participate. Today we begin our preview with a look at 2021 3B Mike Gregos.

Scouting Report
6-foot, 208-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a heel-raise stride. Displayed balance throughout with an ability to create backspin and current pull side power during an above average round of batting practice. Registered a 90 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Showcased solid feet and lateral range while making throws from multiple arm slots defensively. 74 mph arm strength should continue to develop, but a move to first base is also a possibility in the future.
5-foot-11, 208-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a heel raise stride to initiate his swing. Showcased solid feel for the barrel during batting practice with an event best bat exit velocity of 88 mph. Physical frame and solid lower half actions, along with a slightly uphill path, lead to some present pull side power. Displayed active feet defensively and confidence in his glove hand with accurate 68 mph arm strength across the diamond. Ran a 7.48 60-yard dash and barreled the baseball in multiple in game at bats.
5-foot-9, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a leg-hang stride with some lower half glide to initiate his swing. Some length in the swing leads to some barrel drag with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash and displayed active feet with accurate 68 mph arm strength across the diamond defensively.
