94 prospects showcased their abilities over the two days of the 2018 Preseason All-State Showcase. Today we continue our analysis of the prospects in attendance by taking a look at position players in the Class of 2020.

Top Prospects
Cam Conley, 2020, SS, Malvern Prep
5-foot-9, 145-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a controlled leg-hang stride to initiate his swing. Displayed an above average feel for the barrel while making consistent hard contact with the ability to create back spin. Ran a 6.96 and showcased more than enough arm strength defensively (84 mph) to stay on the left side of the infield. Displayed active feet, a soft glove hand and the ability to make plays on the move. Athletic frame has room to add additional strength. Conley was added to the Team Pennsylvania roster for the 2018 PBR Future Games shortly after the completion of the event.
Peter Capobianco, 2020, SS, Dallastown Area
6-foot, 195-pound right-handed hitter took an impressive round of batting practice displaying present power to the pull side with easy, repeatable swing mechanics. Starts from an open stance and uses a controlled lift-and-replace to get back to square. Hands and hips work well in unison and hands work well through contact. Registered a bat exit velocity of 87 mph and flashed present power to the pull side. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash and showcased active feet defensively while playing through the baseball routinely. Showcased 80 mph arm strength with more in the tank and an ability to make plays on the move. Capobianco was added to the Team Pennsylvania roster for the 2018 PBR Future Games shortly after the completion of the event.
John Seibert, 2020, C, Warwick
6-foot-1, 205-pounder with an advanced frame is athletic in all his actions. Began his impressive day by running a 6.80 60-yard dash. The backstop showcased pop times of 2.00-2.06 on throws of 77 mph from the crouch with a clean transition and quick feet. Throws had good carry and were consistently on the bag. Quiet receiver handled elevated velocity well in bullpen session and presented a soft wall when blocking. Right-handed hitter put together one of the top rounds of batting practice over the course of the two day event. Starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a leg-lift stride. Showcased balance throughout and present power to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 95 mph. Was added to the Team Pennsylvania roster for the 2018 PBR Future Games shortly after the completion of the event.
Keegan Soltis, 2020, C, Philipsburg-Osceola
5-foot-9, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Showcased above average feel for the barrel with the ability to routinely create back spin with a bat exit velocity of 82 mph. Advanced receiver with soft glove hand impressed during bullpen sessions. Registered pop times of 2.06-2.14 on throws of 71 mph out of the crouch. Athletic receiver ran a 7.26 60-yard dash.

Hayden Bailly, 2020, 1B, Perkiomen Valley
6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a leg-lift stride. A deep load and some barrel wrap lead to length in the swing. Displayed a strong hip turn and routinely creates back spin with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash and showcased capable glove work around the bag at first base with 70 mph arm strength across the diamond from a short arm throwing motion.
Leo Burman, 2020, OF, Friends Central
5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitter impressed with a very solid round of batting practice. Starts from an open stance and initiates his swing with a leg-hang stride. Displayed solid balance throughout with an above average feel for the barrel and a bat exit velocity of 82 mph. Ran a 7.45 60-yard dash and showcased the ability to play through the baseball routinely with developing 75 mph arm strength from his outfield position.
Casey Caufield, 2020, SS, West Chester Henderson
5-foot-7, 140-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with an abbreviated leg-hang stride. Displayed good rhythm with and advanced feel for the barrel during a solid round of batting practice. Showed an ability to barrel the baseball consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Ran a 7.17 60-yard dash and showcased athletic defensive actions with a quick release. Plays through the baseball consistently with a soft glove hand and active feet. 73 mph arm strength will continue to improve through physical maturity.
Sean Granahan, 2020, 1B, Wyomissing
5-foot-8, 215-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a heel-raise stride. Displayed good balance and rhythm throughout with above average feel for the barrel with some present power to the pull side. Routinely creates back spin with a bat exit velocity of 90 mph. Continued work on agility and core strength should help to improve current 8.35 60-yard dash and 67 mph arm strength across the diamond. Showcased a soft glove hand and solid actions defensively around the bag at first base.
Shane Kelleher, 2020, OF, Avon Grove
5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a leg-hang stride. Displayed balance throughout with a feel for the barrel and some present power to the pull side with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Ran a 6.84 60-yard dash and showcased accurate 83 mph arm strength from his outfield position while routinely playing through the baseball.
Wyatt Metzger, 2020, C, Selinsgrove
5-foot-11, 180-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a less violent, more controlled approach leading to more consistent barrels and a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash and showcased pop times of 2.12-2.25 on throws of 72 mph from the crouch. Quiet receiver showed quick feet and a short arm circle with a clean transition. Continued work on staying directional will continue to lower current times.
Tyler Owen, 2020, OF, Lansdale Catholic
5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a line drive approach with a direct swing path and a feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. Ran one of the better 60-yard dash times of the two-day event at 6.68 and routinely played through the baseball defensively with 79 mph arm strength from his outfield position out of a 3/4 arm slot.
Trent Pierce, 2020, C, Archbishop Carroll
5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a heel-raise stride. Displayed the ability to create some back spin and routinely used the big part of the field with a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash and showcased pop times of 2.15-2.23 on throws of 71 mph from the crouch. Showcased quick feet and a clean transition while routinely staying directional on throws to second base.
Joseph Pettinelli, 2020, SS, Marple Newtown
5-foot-10, 140-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Loads hand in front and away from back shoulder with some barrel wrap leading to length in the swing. Registered a 76 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Showcased above average actions defensively with active feet, a quick release and the ability to play through the baseball. Current 79 mph arm strength will play on the left side of the infield and will continue to improve as he matures into his athletic frame.
John Salvitti, 2020, SS, Shady Side Academy
5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a toe-tap stride. Displayed balance throughout with a line drive approach. Showcased good tempo and a solid feel for the barrel with an advanced 87 mph bat exit velocity. Showed a full arm circle throwing motion defensively with current 75 mph arm strength across the diamond with average footwork. Interesting prospect that should continue to show improvements through physical maturity and strength gains.
Brendan Shayer, 2020, C, Perkiomen Valley
5-foot-11, 170-pound backstop showcased pop times of 2.07-2.15 on throws of 72 mph from the crouch. Flashed very quick feet and a clean transition while consistently putting throws on the bag. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a toe-tap stride to initiate his swing. Showcased a short swing path with a feel for the barrel and a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. Rounded out a solid day running a 7.15 60-yard dash. Definite catcher to follow in this class.
Jayden Taitano, 2020, C, Conestoga Valley
5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing from a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased an aggressive hip-turn and the ability to create back spin with present power to the pull side. Registered a bat exit velocity of 91 mph. Injury kept him from working out defensively on this date. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash.
Dalton Turner, 2020, OF, Neshaminy
5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a leg-hang stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a feel for the barrel and some present power to the pull side with a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. A deep hands load leads to some length in the swing and an uphill path to the hitting zone. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash and showcased the ability to routinely play through the baseball defensively with 83 mph arm strength from the outfield.
Nathan Turner, 2020, OF, Dover (DE)
6-foot-1, 160-pound left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a leg-hang stride to initiate his swing. Showcased the ability to stay behind the baseball with a solid feel for the barrel and a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash and displayed accurate 76 mph arm strength from his outfield position.
