Black TEAM

TOP PROSPECTs

Kai CummingsKai Cummings, 2020, RHP/OF, Germantown Friends HS (PA)
6-foot-2, 175-pound two-way prospect showcased a well-rounded skill set with a big upside. The fleet footed outfielder ran an event best 6.81 60-yard dash and ran 6.60 on the laser at the Preseason Preview in January. He sat 78-80 on the mound out of an over-the-top arm slot with some hip coil to his delivery that begins with a side rocker step. Repeats well and showed command of the zone with confidence in his 70-71 changeup that he throws at fastball arm speed. Curveball is a pitch in development but at times showed 12/6 rotation at 64-66. The right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and starts his swing with a leg-hang stride. He registered an 81 mph bat exit velocity and went 2-for-7 in game action with a double. A switch to outfield as his primary position may be on the horizon. With his long striding actions Cummings could find himself playing daily in center field at the next level.

Jaden HenlineJaden Henline, 2020, RHP, Red Land HS (PA)
A last minute replacement for a pitcher that was unable to attend, Henline shined in his three innings of work. Working on just two days rest after throwing in a tournament over the weekend, the 6-foot-1, 165-pounder's velocity was down a bit, but he was more than effective. He sat 80-81 from a high 3/4 arm slot with command of both sides of the plate. The righty was up to 84 at a PBR event in December and touched 86 this past weekend. Henline also showed above average feel for his curveball with tight 11/5 rotation at 70-73 and good sell on his changeup with arm-side run at 66-67. Henline struck out five and allowed just one hit on an elevated changeup in his three innings of work.

Mark McNellyMark McNelly, 2019, SS/2B, Spring-Ford HS (PA)
6-foot-1, 172-pound right-handed hitter took one of the top rounds of batting practice at the event. He starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. McNelly displayed above average feel for the barrel and gap power with a frame that has room to add another 15 to 20 pounds. He registered a bat exit velocity of 89 mph and ran a 6.93 60-yard dash. McNelly blistered a single to center field in his second at bat in game play and showed the athleticism to be able to play multiple infield positions at the next level. His 82 mph arm strength will play on the left side of the infield at the next level and his foot speed would allow for a move to the outfield as well.

Kenneth RodriguezKenneth Rodriguez, 3B/OF, George School (PA)
6-foot-4, 210-pound right-handed hitter was among the event leaders with a bat exit velocity of 90 mph. He starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. An uphill path through the zone creates backspin with present pull side power. Went 4-for-6 in game action including a pair of doubles off the left field wall. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash and flashed 87 mph arm strength from the outfield in defensive evaluations. That arm strength plays well at third base where he showed well in game action making several quality plays. His size and athleticism will give coaches a number of options to get him into the lineup defensively at the next level.

Rowan TeranRowan Teran, 2020, SS/2B, Harriton HS (PA)
5-foot-8, 165-pound right-handed hitter only participated on day one of the event due to another commitment, but stood out with his all-around skill set. He starts his swing from an open stance and utilizes a short, leg-hand stride to initiate his lower half. Displayed an advanced feel for the barrel and an ability to drive both gaps during a very solid round of batting practice. Registered a bat exit velocity of 84 mph and ran a 7.07 60-yard dash. Barreled the baseball in all three in game at bats including a pair of line outs to left field and a triple in his final plate appearance. Showcased active feet and confidence in his glove hand defensively with 80 mph arm strength across the diamond. Made the defensive play of day one diving to his backhand side and throwing across the diamond from his knees for the out.

Carter WelchCarter Welch, 2021, LHP/OF, Allentown Central Catholic HS (PA)
6-foot-1, 165-pound primary pitcher impressed with his all-around skill set. The lefty sat 75-79 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with hip coil to his delivery. Welch also commanded a curveball with 1/7 rotation at 56-60 and a changeup with excellent arm speed at 65-66. The underclassmen has an advanced knowledge of how to pitch and with a long, athletic frame should see velo jump accordingly as he adds strength through physical maturity. Welch ran a 7.56 60-yard dash, showcased 81 mph arm strength from the outfield and registered an 84 mph bat exit velocity. Definite follow in the Class of 2021.

Remainder of Roster: (in alphabetical order)

Kyle Denisch, 2020, SS, Delone Catholic HS (PA)

Nico Felber, 2019, RHP/OF, Muhlenberg HS (PA)
6-foot, 180-pound primary pitcher sat 78-79 from a high 3/4 arm slot with some hip coil action to his delivery. Also commanded a curveball with 11/5 rotation at 67-69 allowing two hits and two runs over three innings of work with one strikeout. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Some barrel wrap leads to some length in the swing and a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. Went 2-for-3 with two doubles in game action on day one and ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Showcased athletic defensive actions and accurate 81 mph arm strength from the outfield.

Peyton Fox, 2019, RHP, Dallastown Area HS (PA)
6-foot-3, 165-pound righty sat 76-78 from a low 3/4 arm slot working solely out of the stretch. Also displayed command of a curveball with 9/3 frisbee rotation at 66-67. Worked three innings on day one allowing two runs while striking out three. Long, loose arm action with plenty of room to add to his frame. Additional velocity is likely and the addition of a quality changeup could make Fox an effective specialist at the next level.

Sean Granahan, 2020, 1B, Wyomissing HS (PA)
5-foot-8, 215-pound left-handed hitter participated on day two only showcasing a soft glove hand and capable footwork around the bag at first base. The lefty has shown some pull side pop at previous events and went 1-for-4 with four barreled baseballs during game action on this date.

Showcased 85 mph arm strength from the outfield and the ability to play multiple defensive positions.

Shane Kecken, 2019, C/3B, Delone Catholic HS (PA)
5-foot-11, 155-pound backstop flashed pop times of 2.17-2.25 on throws of 70 mph out of the crouch and ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a short, lift-and-replace stride to start his swing. Showcased a line drive approach in BP with a bat exit velocity of 81 mph and 2-for-4 in game action on day two of the event.

Ben Myers, 2019, OF, Cumberland Valley HS (PA)
