Scouting Report
2/12/17 5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitter. Starts from a slightly open stance, takes a knee-to-knee stride to square, and holds hands in a good launch position. Swings hard, although would benefit from strength gains, as he has a tendency to use his shoulders to get the barrel moving, which can create some length in his path. Posted 80 mph exit velocity. Defensively, he does a nice job fielding the baseball out front and recorded 77 mph arm strength. Will need to improve foot speed (7.85 60-yard dash) and quickness to remain in the middle of the diamond long-term.
1/28/17 5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Showcased a solid feel for the barrel while during an above average round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. Has an aggressive move to his front side that can tie him up and cause difficulties getting his hands to an inner half pitch. Displayed active feet and accurate 77 mph arm strength across the diamond. As he develops physically he will need to work to improve his current 8.00 60-yard dash time.
1/14/17 5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Displayed an above average feel for the barrel while consistently barreling the baseball during a solid round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. Displayed capable defensive actions with developing 72 mph arm strength across the diamond. Overall game will continue to develop through strength gains and physical maturity.
