2014 Unsigned Senior Showcase: Outfield Analysis

The 2nd Annual Unsigned Senior Showcase took place on October 18. A number of solid performances were turned in with catcher Logan Snyder (Lakeview) taking home top prospect honors. Today we wrap up our review of the prospects in attendance by taking a look at the outfielders.

Top Prospects
Chandler Palyas, OF, Cannon-McMillan HS, PA (2015)
Palyas showcased athletic actions and an accurate 81 mph arm from the outfield with solid straight line carry. The 5-foot-8, 150-pound left-handed hitter displayed a slightly open stance with a lift and replace stride during a solid round of batting practice. Palyas showed fluid swing mechanics and good hands in consistently barreling the baseball. He completed his day by registering the second fastest 60-yard dash of the day at 6.90.
Zach Wojcik, OF, Spring-Ford HS, PA (2015)
Wojcik is a 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitter that displayed a strong lower half and some gap power potential with a bat exit velocity of 79 mph. The senior starts from an open stance with a high hands load and creates good barrel whip with a solid hip turn. Wojcik showcased athletic actions in the outfield with good carry on throws of 79 mph.

Alec Blyler, Hatboro-Horsham HS, PA (2015)
Blyler is an athletic, 6-foot, 185-pound left-handed hitter with a projectable frame. He starts from a crouched, square stance and utilizes a toe tap stride. Blyler barreled the baseball frequently during his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. The senior flashed an accurate 77 mph arm from the outfield and ran a 7.45 60-yard dash.
Alessandro Marotto, OF/3B, Karns City HS, PA (2015)
Marotto ran the top 60-yard dash of the day at 6.86. The 5-foot-8, 150-pound right-handed hitter showcased the ability to square the baseball frequently using all fields with a flat barrel path. Marotto starts from a square stance with a high hands load and utilizes a lift and replace stride to create a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. The senior has an accurate (74mph) short arm throwing motion from the outfield.
Logan Reever, OF, Biglerville HS, PA (2015)
Reever ran a 7.15 60-yard dash and showed an accurate 77 mph arm from the outfield. The 6-foot, 185-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance with a toe tap stride. Reever displayed a short swing path and the ability to barrel the baseball routinely with a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. The senior displayed good feet running a 7.15 60-yard dash.
Frankie Talarico, OF/2B, Fleetwood Area HS, PA (2015)
Talarico displayed an accurate 77 mph arm and athletic actions defensively. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and has a flat barrel path that allowed him to square the baseball frequently with a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. Talarico completed his day by registering a 7.41 60-yard dash.
Tim Whitmoyer, OF, Wilson HS, PA (2015)
Whitmoyer showcased solid feet (6.91 60-yard dash) and some athleticism in his actions defensively with a long arm throwing motion. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance with a high hands load. Whitmoyer barreled the baseball frequently with no stride and a bat exit velocity of 76 mph.
