As we inch closer to the 2025 high school baseball season, Prep Baseball Oregon begins another new offseason series of Picks to Click.
The Picks to Click series focuses on spotlighting players that Prep Baseball staff feels are poised for big jumps this coming high school season. Whether it be due to jumps in overall skillset, added opportunity at their high school, or other outside contributing factors, these prospects will be intruiging follows as we enter the 2025 season.
Today, we spotlight three class of 2026 catchers that could take a big leap next spring. Each of these athletes attended a Prep Baseball event this summer and flashed some promising tools. For complete profile information, click on each player's name below.

Ryder Listy, Jesuit (OR), 2026
Positional Profile: C/OF
Body: 5-11, 180-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Open stance, knees bent, hands start over rear shoulder with barrel pointed horizontally. Short load, small leg lift into average stride length. Level finish. Quiet moving parts throughout swing. 67 mph bat speed with 13 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 85.0 mph. 358' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-71 mph. Over the top arm slot, short arm action, gets arm immediately ready to throw down after transfer.
Defense: 1.98-2.11 pop times. Pushes weight through back foot and gets weight going through 2nd base as pitch approaches (sees runner breaking), frame finishing slightly over in RH batter's box.
ATH: 7.45 runner in the 60. Downhill runner

Body: 6-2, 225-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Tall, upright, open stance. Feet shoulder width apart. Barrel comes up and horizontal as leg lifts. Average leg lift height into average stride length. Shoulders tilt as leg lifts, level finish. 78 mph bat speed with 10 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 102 max exit velocity, averaged 91.3 mph. 383' max distance. Power potential evident, plus bat speed.
Arm: RH. INF-78 mph. Sidearm arm slot, short arm action, arm goes straight into load at ball transfer.
Defense: Calm throughout fielding process, pause to load on throws across diamond. Clean footwork getting off the base, fielding and turning throws to 2nd.
ATH: 7.77 runner in the 60.

Hit: RHH. Starts in balanced stance with knees slightly externally rotated. High hands with barrel horizontal over rear shoulder. Weight shifts over rear side with small leg lift load. Bend in levers through contact with line drive approach. Strong two-hand finish. 59 mph bat speed with 20 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 77 max exit velocity, averaged 73.7 mph. 267' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-71 mph. Quicker transfer with 3/4 slot release. Throws around the bag consistently.
Defense: 2.15-2.20 pop times. Works from 1KD setup. Sticks frames with flexion in wrist. Sound, quick feet on throwdowns with some twitch present.
ATH: 7.63 runner in the 60
