Uncommitted Spotlight - 2025 Rankings Risers

Dan Jurik
Scouting Director - Pacific Northwest

Last week we updated our 2025 class rankings for Oregon. Class rankings are updated multiple times throughout the year with the goal of helping coaches/evaluators identify players in the area.

Today we're spotlighting 3 uncommitted prospects who are on the rise in the class after strong showings this summer and in the fall.

UNCOMMITTED SPOTLIGHT

2025 rankings risers

Alexander Pearson 1B / LHP / Tigard, OR / 2025

One of the bigger power bats in the state, at 6’2, 185, Pearson has advanced size and strength offensively from the left side. Impacts the baseball with above average bat speed and is capable of hitting for power to all fields. At the plate he keeps it simple with very few moving parts and a controlled leg lift for his load. As with most power bats, the path is more uphill and he creates easy lift to his pull-side. Defensively he handles 1B with a large catch radius and has sound footwork around the bag. A capable 2-way prospect as well. He possesses plenty of aptitude on the bump and given his size and tight arm path, he could see a substantial jump in 2023.

Gabriel Coltman OF / 1B / Lincoln, OR / 2025

Coltman made his PBR debut this fall and put on a loud performance at our Underclass Invite back in September. One of the more physical athletes in the class at 6’4, 220 lbs. Coltman profiles well to OF with his size, strength and he should continue to move well defensively even with his bigger frame. Offensively is where he impressed the most with a peak EV up to 98.1 mph while averaging 88.1 throughout BP. Peak bat speed was up to 73.7 mph and his barrel shows impressive zone coverage with the ability to stay on-plane into contact. For a taller athlete, he does a solid job staying level and can produce line drive, gap to gap power without having to get too steep with his swing. Exciting power bat to keep an eye on in 2023.

Drew Hall OF / 2B / Wilsonville, OR / 2025

Hall showed what he could do earlier this fall in an impressive PBR debut at Sherwood back in mid-September. A wide shouldered athlete with a lean frame and solid pound for pound strength at 5’11, 145. Hall fits well in OF where his straight line speed and arm profile nicely for the next level. Offensively, he has some twitch in the barrel with quick hand speed and moves athletically through his core. Presently he shows more of a line-drive, up the middle approach but does have the power to lift the ball when he gets a pitch he can handle. Defensively he has long, clean strides and a high, over the top release on his throws that helps him maintain true, accurate ball flight.
