September 24, 2021
Last week we updated our 2022 state rankings for Oregon.
For the first time in nearly 2 years, there was a new #1 player as LHP Nelson Keljo (Jesuit) took over the top spot after a huge showing on the mound this spring & summer. For more on Keljo's ascension to the top and the other Top 10 prospects, click HERE.
Our next look into the rankings focuses on 4 uncommitted prospects who have continued to trend up recently based on various looks at events and game action.
OF Griffin Biggs (Tualatin), SS/RHP Devin Bell (La Grande), OF/1B Spencer Sullivan (West Linn) and C/1B Wyatt Hurley (Yamhill Carlton) are all names to keep an eye on moving forward

2022 RANKINGS RISERS
GRIFFIN BIGGSOF / SS / TUALATIN , OR / 2022Rankings StateRank: 24 / POS: 5
Multi-sport athlete with functional strength in both his upper and lower half. Biggs is a physical presence on the diamond. At the plate, he utilizes a narrow, upright set up with relaxed hands. The lower half is a bit more narrow than our previous looks, which helps him stay taller at contact and produces more leverage to help lift the ball. There’s noticeable juice in the hands at contact & he swings with the intent to do damage. Capable of hitting for power to all fields with his combination of strength & bat speed. Defensively he’s worked at both INF and OF on our showcase looks. His feet work well at both spots. The upper half is a bit cleaner and more fluid on the OF exchange compared to the INF. From the OF, he’s been up to 87 on his defensive throws, flashing above average arm strength that plays well from all spots. Turned in some strong performances throughout the summer against quality live pitching. |
