Oregon Class of 2024 Rankings: Risers

As the summer comes to an end and Oregon's Class of 2024 heads into its senior campaign, we take a look at the 'Risers' in the class as the season changes to fall. Last week, our staff officially updated our '24 board, highlighting several of the state’s top prospects within our release.
We'll dive deeper into the rankings today, shining light on a handful of players who earned a rise up our board after showing well in front of the PBR Oregon staff. Below, you'll learn more about these names that are trending upward as we enter the increasingly important fall season.

Kayle Pisano 1B / LHP / Clackamas , OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 3
From 8/23/23: "[Pisano] is the biggest riser in the state as he climbs to the #3 spot after multiple standout performances in the past 6-7 months. After putting on a show during BP in our preseason tour, he carried it over into the summer with another loud showing and ultimately landed on the Area Code roster thanks in large part to his potent LH bat. Has the athleticism to handle 1B or potentially corner OF long-term as well."

Finn Edwards RHP / Summit, OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 5
From 8/23/23: "[Edwards] lands in the Top 10 after creating some major helium for himself this summer. The 6’6 hurler was up to 92 mph with his FB when we saw him in a bullpen setting in late June. Given his physicality and low mileage on his arm, it’s fair to assume his pure stuff can improve even more before his prep career comes to a conclusion." |

Griffin Scott LHP / 1B / Ida B Wells, OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 7
From 8/23/23: "[Scott] is a newcomer to the Top 10 and makes a big jump overall after an impressive run between the spring and summer. A highly productive arm during the HS season with feel for the zone, Scott works in the mid-to-upper 80s with his FB and will attack with a 4 pitch arsenal. Simple, repeatable mechanics with sustainable effort in the delivery." |

Gavin Derr LHP / 1B / Mountain View , OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 8
From 8/23/23: "[Derr] is another standout performer from Preseason All-State who rises into the Top 10 thanks to his combination of present arm talent with remaining upside. Derr pitches with an elastic arm that generates impressive lay back and late whip out front. He was up to 87 in the winter and can shape 2 different breaking balls with tight spin." (2/21/23) |

Justin Schramm RHP / 3B / Wilsonville , OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 20
Schramm possesses some of the highest upside in the state's 2024 class. Towering over the rubber at 6-foot-6, 195-pounds with long and wiry levers, the projectability of the frame is undeniable. He ran his fastball up to 89.5 recently at our West Coast Games, among the best velocities at the event. While there, he impressed against a talented lineup, solidifying himself as an uncommitted name-to-know in the Pacific Northwest. Schramm leaps into the top-20 in our most recent rankings update.

Owen Montgomery OF / OF / Mountainside, OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 24
Montgomery is a lean and athletic 6-foot-2, 160-pounds with plenty of room to continue adding mass. Despite his wiry frame, he is able to generate big bat speed and drive the ball with authority. He posted impressive swing and batted ball data during batting practice at both the West Coast Games and Top Prospect Games, and slugged multiple extra-base hits during gameplay against talented arms. He slides up into the state's top-25 and is now the top uncommitted outfielder in Oregon's 2024 class.

Ervin Dorsett III SS / 2B / Tualatin, OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 34
Dorsett III showcased big gains in his strength over the span of a year, increasing his max exit velocity from the mid-80s to 96.6 at our Top Prospect Games. Offensively, he showcased explosive hands with intriguing power potential. The added strength did not impact his quickness on the diamond either, as he is an athletic defender with clean actions that shows the ability to stick on the left side of the dirt. |

Nigel Fahland SS / 2B / Sherwood , OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 55
Fahland is a wiry and athletic left-handed hitting middle infielder with smooth actions up-the-middle and a clean glove. He put together a strong junior campaign for the Bowmen, hitting primarily out of the leadoff spot and playing the role of table setter for the Sherwood offense. His athleticism shined defensively as he played a variety of positions all over the diamond. After a strong spring and summer, Fahland rises nearly 20 spots in rankings update heading into the fall.

Parker Fabrycki SS / 2B / Sherwood, OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 57
Fabrycki is another member of the Sherwood squad that has made a sizable jump in the rankings. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound infielder has room to continue adding mass to his frame. Fabrycki was primarily slotted at 2B during the spring for the Bowmen, and he provided plenty of offensive production from the bottom half of their lineup. He constantly swings with intent, rarely getting cheated at the dish. A productive spring and summer helped him jump 40 spots in our most recent rankings update. |

Joel Hong 3B / 2B / Westview , OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 61
Hong hosts an athletic 5-foot-11, 185-pound frame with present strength throughout his frame. From the right-side of the box, he swings a heavy barrel that routinely posted low-to-mid 90 exit velocities. His quick hands help generate bat speed with ease, allowing him to drive the ball with authority to all parts of the field. At our Top Prospect Games in July, Hong ranked among the top in maximum and average hand speed as well as maximum and average bat speed. He jumps over 30 spots following a strong summer. |

Grayson Grover 3B / RHP / Scappoose , OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 69
Grover offers intriguing upside in his 6-foot, 175-pound frame with wiry levers. He put together an impressive spring for Scappoose, playing a vital role in their 4A State Championship run. Grover capped off his junior campaign with a two hit, three-RBI performance in the title game to help Indians secure the championship. After the spring, he came away a winner from our Top Prospect Games in July after posting the second highest maximum and average rotational acceleration at the event. After a sensational year, Grover jumps over 20 spots in our recent update. |

Luey Campos OF / RHP / Crescent Valley, OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 71
From 6/23/23: "[Campos] had a complete day in both the showcase and with his live ABs. Strongly built at 5’10, 175 lbs, he ran a 6.86 while tossing 82 mph from the OF with consistent accuracy. At the plate, his short, powerful levers produce consistent hard contact with a peak EV of 92.6 and a great average of 85.3, showcasing his consistency. Went 2-2 in game as well." |

Kyle Slater C / 3B / Yamhill Carlton, OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 73
Built with a strong lower half at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds, Slater was an absolute force in the spring for Tigers' offense. He continued to carry that momentum into the summer, including a quality showing at Top Prospect Games. At the loaded event, Slater ranked among the top of the leaderboard in maximum hand speed (24.8 mph) and maximum bat speed (75.0 mph). He jumps over 20 spots in our most recent rankings update, not slotting in the top-75. |

Zachary Jaeger 2B / 3B / Tigard, OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 82
Jaeger is a compactly built infielder that showed well at our Top Prospect Games in July. The athleticism is apparent as he's a sub-7.00 runner in the 60 that has reached a peak run speed north of 20 mph. Along with his athleticism, he has surprising strength for his frame. He's shown above average bat speed in the past, along with an efficient swing plane, resulting in low-90s exit velocities off the barrel. |

Diego Richards 3B / 2B / Glencoe , OR / 2024Rankings PBR Oregon: 83
From 5/1/23: "The uncommitted junior has shown well in front of our staff in various events in the past, and was a key contributor atop the Glencoe lineup in all three wins this past week. He reached base seven times during their series against Century, wreaking havoc on the base paths with a pair of stolen bases and three runs scored. He also recorded a hit in each of their victories this week. He finished the week 5-for-12 with three RBI, three runs scored, and two walks." |
