5.1.23 - 5.7.23

'24 Vince Williams (Lake Oswego) - The junior outfielder recorded a hit in each of the Lakers' three games this past week, including a multi-hit performance in Tuesday's victory. On top of swinging a hot bat, Williams also showed off his plate discipline, reaching base seven times in eleven plate appearances. He finished the week 4-for-8 with three walks.

'23 Luke Brooks (Lakeridge) - The uncommitted senior has been excellent throughout this campaign, and showed his two-way capabilities during the Pacers' three game series this past week. Brooks played the role of run producer in the first two games of the series, recording a pair of RBI in both contests. His week offensively was highlighted by Wednesday's two-hit performance, including launching a home run. He finished the week 3-for-9 with a long ball and four RBI. On Friday, Brooks got to toe-the-rubber as Lakeridge sought a sweep. Brooks put together a stellar outing, tossing a complete game shutout. He struck out five opposing hitters while facing just three more than the minimum. His final line was 7 IP, 5 Ks, 2 H, 2 BB, 0 R. 

'24 Ty Sheldon (Liberty) - The junior backstop has impressed our staff in the past with his offensive abilities, and continued to show just that this week. He hit .500 over the course of a three game set, including a double and a home run. His week was highlighted by a three hit, five RBI performance in the series opener on Monday, including the aforementioned long ball. Throughout the week he was constantly getting on base, reaching in eight of his twelve plate appearances. 

'24 Frankie Rutigliano (North Medford) - One of the top ranked middle infielders in the state's junior class, Rutigliano added on to an already impressive campaign. He recorded eight hits over the course of four games, with five of those going for extra bases. On Tuesday, he put together a four hit, five RBI performance in an 11-1 victory for the Black Tornado. Rutigliano got plenty of cardio on the day, legging out a triple and two doubles. He finished the week 8-for-15 with a triple, four doubles, five RBI, and five runs scored. 

'24 Caden Richardson (Pleasant Hills) - Richardson continues to build upon a strong junior season, playing a pivotal role in the Billies going 3-1 on the week. He recorded a hit in each of the four contests, including multi-hit performances in the first three games. He finished the week going 7-for-13 with a triple, a double, 5 runs scored, four RBI. He also got the start on the mound in Tuesday's matchup, and he was nothing short of dominant. He hurled six innings, allowing just one unearned run and striking out 13 in the process. His final line on the bump was 6 IP, 13 Ks, 5 H, 2 BB, 1 R, 0 ER.

'24 Matthew Kosderka (Sandy) - Kosderka proved once again why he is a top right-handed arm in the state's 2024 class this past week, as he got to toe-the-rubber this past Tuesday. He was almost perfect, allowing just one baserunner over the course of a six-inning no hitter. He punched out 10 opposing hitters and walked just one. His final line was 6 IP, 10 Ks, 1 BB, 0 H, 0 R. He also provided himself with insurance at the dish that same game, going 2-for-2 with an RBI. 

'25 Brayden Sievertsen (Sandy) - The sophomore got the call up to varsity this past week and made the most of every opportunity. In his debut on Tuesday, he went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored in a big 10-0 victory. He put together an even more impressive performance in the final contest of the week on Friday, when he went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and three runs scored. On top of that, he also got the start on the bump. He tossed a five-inning no hitter, striking out nine while facing just two more than the minimum. His line was 5 IP, 9 Ks, 1 BB, 0 H, 0 R. 

'24 Jaxson Bowen (Sherwood) - The junior had two appearances this past week, one a start and one a relief stint. His first outing of the week was a save opportunity on Monday, when he recorded a three up-three down inning to secure the win. Bowen got to toe-the-rubber on Friday as the Bowmen went for the sweep, and he was phenomenal in his start. He tossed a complete game shutout, punching out five opposing hitters while failing to surrender a walk. He worked very efficiently, facing just three more than the minimum and completing the game in just 77 pitches. His final line from his start was 7 IP, 5 Ks, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 R. Final line on the week is 8 IP, 5 Ks, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 R.

'23 Nick Gribble (Sherwood) - The Linfield University football commit had an excellent week for the Bowmen during their three-game sweep over Glencoe. He recorded a hit in each contest, including a pair of multi-hit performances. He knocked a pair of base hits in the first game, slugged a two-run home run in the middle matchup, and finished the week with a couple of hits including a double in the series finale. He finished the week 5-for-8 with a home run, a double, two RBI, three runs scored, and three walks.

'24 Nolan Umlandt (Sherwood) -  The Portland recruit has been stellar during his junior campaign, and nothing changed this past week. He got the start in the series opener on Monday, tossing six innings and striking out 13 in the process. He allowed just two hits, two walks, and an unearned run. His final line on the bump was 6 IP, 13 Ks, 2 H, 2 BB, 1 R, 0 ER. He also slugged a double this game, and went 2-for-3 on Wednesday with a double and an RBI. 

'23 Carson Waples (Silverton) - The Mt. Hood CC commit continued his excellent senior campaign with a solid outing against the defending state champions. Waples tossed over six innings, allowing just six hits and no earned runs against a potent lineup. His final line was 6 IP, 1 K, 2 BB, 6 H, 5 R, 0 ER. 

'26 Teagan Scott (South Salem) - The Oregon State recruit continues to show as a freshman to follow, slotting within the top-250 prospects in the nation's 2026 class. His offense was pivotal for the Saxons in a pair of wins this past week. In the first game of the week, he knocked an RBI single. He followed that up with a two hit performance on Wednesday, including an RBI single that drove in the eventual game-winning run. 

'23 Zach Justice (Summit) - The Oregon commit is a top-ranked backstop in the Pacific Northwest's senior class. In Wednesday's win over Lava, Justice went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Two of his hits went for extra bases, including a home run. He also added a base hit in the series finale on Friday as the Storm completed the sweep. He finished the week 4-for-9 with a home run, a double, five RBI, and a pair of stolen bases. 

'25 Connor Molony (Thurston) - The Oregon recruit is a premier sophomore in the region and was a key contributor to the Colts in their three wins this past week. Molony knocked a base hit on Tuesday and two on Friday, including a double. In the middle matchup of the week, he got to toe-the-rubber and was absolutely stellar. He hurled six shutout innings, allowing just two hits. His final line on the mound was 6 IP, 6 Ks, 2 H, 2 BB, 0 R. 

'23 Maddox Molony (Thurston) - The Oregon commit is one of the top-ranked seniors in the state and showed just that during his performance last Tuesday. Molony is an athletic up-the-middle player with plenty of projection in his 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame and he showed his power potential in-game this past week. In the Colts 9-4 victory, the senior shortstop belted a two-run home run. 

'26 Grady Saunders (Thurston) - The Oregon State recruit continues to show as a name-to-know in the region's freshman class. He put together an all-around performance on Tuesday, tossing a complete game while going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a pair of RBI. He lived all around the zone, striking out nine opposing batters while failing to surrender a walk. He added two hits in each of the final two games of the series, collecting six total on the week. He finished the week 6-for-11 with two doubles and five RBI.

'25 Alexander Pearson (Tigard) - Pearson has become a mainstay in the Diamond Notes series this season, as he has shown time and time again to be a name-to-follow in the state's sophomore class. He has plenty of projection in his lean 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame with plenty of power potential. He recorded hits in all three of the Tigers contests this past week, including a pair of multi-hit performances in the first two games of the series. His week was highlighted by a 2-for-3 performance on Wednesday in which he slugged a home run and a double. 

'23 Cooper Clarke (Tualatin) - The uncommitted senior outfielder played a huge role in Tualatin's 7-3 victory over Oregon City last Wednesday, going 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, a stolen base, and a run scored. He also knocked a base hit in the series finale on Friday, driving in the lone run for the Timberwolves. He finished the week 4-for-8 with four RBI.

'24 Gunnar Pedersen (Westview) - One of the top-ranked uncommitted juniors in the state, Pederson showed just why he is a name-to-know this past week. He started off 2-for-3 with a double, a pair of walks, and a pair of RBI in Westview's first contest on Tuesday. The following day, he went 2-for-4 with a two runs scored. In the series finale, Pederson went 1-for-2 with an RBI double in a 5-0 victory. He finished the week going 5-for-9 with two doubles, three RBI, and four runs scored. 

'24 Kheller Larson (Wilsonville) - The junior middle infielder once again was a key contributor towards the bottom of the Wildcats lineup, recording at least one hit and one RBI in each contest this past week. He started the week 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. He followed that up with back-to-back multi-hit performances. On Wednesday, Larson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. In the finale, he went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and a run scored. He finished the week 5-for-9 with a double and four RBI. 

'24 Justin Schramm (Wilsonville) - The two-way junior put together a string of impressive performances for the Wildcats this past week, starting off with a 3-for-3 game in the opening matchup against Milwaukie. In the next game, Schramm added a base hit and a pair of RBI as the Wildcats won big again. During the week finale for Wilsonville, Schramm did it all in an 11-0 victory. At the plate, he went 2-for-2 with an RBI. He also got to toe-the-rubber, where he tossed a five-inning no-hitter. He was stellar on the mound, striking out nine while failing to surrender a hit or a walk. His final line was 5 IP, 9 Ks, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 R. At 6-foot-6 and 185-pounds, Schramm is one of the more projectable prospects in the state's junior class.
