2024 West Coast Games - Team PNW Position Player Quick Hits

Last weekend, Prep Baseball hosted the 2024 West Coast Games. Featuring uncommitted 2025 and select 2026 prospects, the event featured over 150 players in total, gaining looks from many college coaches in attendance. The three-day event held in Southern California consisted of a pro-style workout on day one, followed by two days of gameplay over the weekend. 

Prep Baseball's West Coast Games serves as a premier invite-only event for uncommitted rising upperclassmen on the West Coast. The event gave an unparalleled opportunity to each player in attendance by delivering a “one-stop-shop” for college coaches to recruit. Beyond the on-looking eyes of scouts and coaches, Prep Baseball's unmatched coverage and commitment to elevating players via advanced metrics and technology (Trackman, Blast Motion and Vizual Edge), along with multiple social media platforms, provided elite exposure for each player in attendance.

Team PNW Position Players

2026 INF Kanata Barber (Shorewood)
Impressed both in workout showing and in-game, particularly for underclassman status. Ran a 7.17 60-yard dash time and a 94.3 MPH max exit velo in batting practice while flashing an adequate glove to stick in the dirt. Strong showing at the plate in-game, finishing the weekend 3-4 with 3 singles, 3 walks and a HBP. Generated consistent hard contact to the pull side and worked deep counts. Made several sound defensive plays including a standout diving stop at second base.

2025 OF Braden Bartholomae (Skyline)
Strong, physical athlete ran a 7.13 60-yard dash with quickness that translated to the outfield. Found the sweet spot consistently with a line drive approach in batting practice. At the plate in-game, had a loud double in game three with a walk over the weekend as well. Controlled approach at the dish, strong through contact with ability to drive baseballs to the pull side and up the middle of the field.

2025 C Aidan Birchard (Oregon City)
Showcased some quickness, particularly from catcher position. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash time and flashed 1.97-1.99 second pop times from behind the dish in workouts. Had a 91.5 MPH max exit velo in BP rounds. Hit into a couple of tough luck outs in-game, but flashed defensive ability consistently.

2025 OF Briggs Ellis (O'Dea)
Standout athlete showed some loud tools in workout setting, running a 6.78 second 60-yard dash and posting a 99.5 MPH max exit velo in hitting rounds. Also averaged 91.2 MPH exit velos across all of BP, one of the highest marks on Team PNW. Drew a pair of walks over the weekend of gameplay with multiple other hard hit balls. Mature approach with aggression on the basepaths shown and overall aura of confidence to game. 

2025 OF/1B Andrew Fetty (Kamiak)
Bat-first prospect had a peak exit velo of 97.9 MPH but did flash a 104.2 MPH exit velo earlier in the summer. Ran a 7.15 second 60-yard dash time and flashed throws up to 84 MPH from the outfield. Found his stride at the plate as the weekend went on, including a loud, ringing double in game three. Strong framed athlete has upside in 6 foot, 230 pound build.

2025 OF Ian Kolmer (Ida B. Wells)
Another physical prospect with tools flashed in workout. Ran a 7.36 second 60-yard dash and was 85 MPH from the outfield. Got the ball in the air consistently in BP with a 97.6 MPH max exit velo. Finished the weekend 2-5 with 2 walks in-game. Nearly left the yard in the final game, settling for a stand-up double off the top of the wall. Quiet, composed demeanor plays the game the right way.

2025 1B Jacob Muench (Capital)
The slugger of a lefthander had a loud BP showing, with a 98.7 MPH max exit velo. Consistently drove ball in the air with a 382 foot bomb as his longest shot. Finished the in-game portion of the event 3-7 with two doubles and a single. Tight-wound operation at the plate with power to all fields, consistently found barrels in-game in multiple looks this summer.

2025 OF Matthew Talbot (Mount Si)
Versitile outfielder ran a 6.96 second 60-yard dash and threw 84 MPH from the outfield. In-game, finished 2-4 with three walks, including a loud triple deep in the gap during game two. Features simple approach at the plate with wide base. Strong athlete plays the game hard and made every play in limited outfield action. 

2025 INF Julian Unay (Newport)
Natural middle infielder ran a 7.19 second 60-yard dash and had an 83 MPH throw across the diamond. Had a 97.4 MPH max exit velo in BP with a furthest hit ball of 362 feet. Strong impression left at the dish, with sound approach and barrels throughout. Generates loft with high-intent swings at the plate. Sound defender in the infield that could stick at any spot.

2025 C Kellen Wood (Mountainside)
Strong-armed catcher had a 2.01 second best pop time, throwing 78 MPH from behind the plate. One of the best in-game performances at the plate, finishing 2-3 with two singles, four walks, and a big home run. One of the top remaining uncommitted '25 graduates in Oregon certainly looked the part, playing with a confident demeanor.
