Toronto Fall ID: Hitting Data Dive

On Tuesday, October 1st, the Prep Baseball Ontario staff hosted the annual Toronto Fall ID at the Connorvale Park in Toronto, Ontario. This event featured 35+ players in 2025 - 2028 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players, as well as collect updated metrics via our tech partner TrackMan. The Toronto Fall ID serves as the final chance each year for players to updated their profiles before heading indoors for the winter.

Earlier this week, we broke down the top measurable data performers from the event with our Statistical Analysis and Pitching Data Dive. Now, we conclude our post-event coverage within this Hitting Data Dive article as we take a look at the top Trackman hitting data:

EXIT VELOCITY (MAX)

EXIT VELOCITY (AVG.)

Exit Velocity: This metric measures the speed of the ball, measured in miles per hour, as it comes off the bat at the moment of contact.

BATTED BALL DISTANCE (MAX)

BATTED BALL DISTANCE (AVG.)

Distance: This metric measures how far the ball traveled, or would travel if it was not obstructed, measured in feet.

SWEET SPOT %

Sweet Spot percentage: This metric is determined by how often the player produces a batted ball during the session with a launch angle between 8 to 32 degrees.

LINE DRIVE %

Line Drive % - Percentage of line drives hit during a given set of batted ball events. Trackman defines a line drive as any batted ball with a launch angle between 10 degrees and 24.9 degrees.
