Holiday Hitters - Toronto: Quick Hits
January 8, 2024
On Thursday, the PBR Ontario staff hosted the final portion of its three-part Holiday Hitters Series with Holiday Hitters - Toronto, at NRS Institute in East York, Ontario. This event featured 11 players from the Greater Toronto Area in the 2024 - 2027 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at how players are progressing this winter as players received several extended rounds of BP utilizing our TrackMan for the complete breakdown and metrics.
Earlier this week we began our post-event coverage with a look at the top statistical performers within our Hitting Data Dive article. Today, we conclude our post-event coverage within this Quick Hits article as we break down four standouts through scouting notes and video.

HOLIDAY HITTERS SHOWCASE - TORONTO: QUICK HITS
Cameron Dube C / OF / Preston , ON / 2024‘24 C/OF Cam Dube put together one of the top rounds we saw across our three Holiday Hitters events in Ontario. Big, physical frame at 6-foot-3, 220-pounds and was looking to damage the ball throughout all three of his rounds. The right-handed hitter showed a good approach with hard line-drives to all fields and flashed his bat speed, as well. His average exit velocity was just shy of 90mph (89.4mph) with a peak of 100.4mph. One of the more impact bats in the Ontario Nationals organization right now and could head to college as either a 2024 or a 2025.

Lucian Donald 1B / OF / Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, ON / 2027We got a look at 2027 1B/OF Lucian Donald at a pair of the Holiday Hitters Showcases and he put together some of the top metrics among 2027s at the six showcases nation-wide. 5-foot-8, 195-pound left-handed hitter displayed a simple swing/setup with a line-drive approach and worked to the middle of the field throughout his three rounds. Posted a peak exit velocity of 92.4mph, along with a peak distance of 298ft. Plenty of development to come but was able to flash some present strength at times.

Nolan Walsh OF / LHP / Bishop Allen Academy , ON / 20252025 OF/LHP Nolan Walsh put together some of the better batting practice we saw at the Holiday Hitters event in Toronto. 6-foot, 175-pound right-handed hitter with a short stroke that allowed him to work up the middle, generating a peak exit velocity of 91.1mph. Adding strength and physicality will be huge for Walsh’s development as he continues to look ahead to college baseball.

Dylan Duguay OF / RHP / North Toronto , ON / 2025Although he may not have generated some of the top metrics at the event, 2025 OF/RHP Dylan Duguay showcased one of the better swings at the event. Athletic look in the right-side of the box at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds. Strong base and lower-half throughout his swing with medium-sized leg-kick and feel to work up the middle. Gap-to-gap hitter who’s continued to trend upwards in all areas of his game since we first saw him in the fall of 2020.
