Uncommitted Spotlight: Turner Spoljaric
Report: Spoljaric, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound, long-limbed right-hander, has an athletic build and room to add strength. He is currently the top uncommitted pitcher in Ontario and is the sixth overall player in his class. On the mound, Spoljaric works with a large leg lift that syncs up with a long arm circle. He works from a high ¾ slot and gets into a good position at release. He sits in the 85-87 range and was up to 88 with some arm-side run not long before the shutdown. He throws a curveball with 10/4 shape, that flashes tight spin and depth and has recorded swings and misses in the past. His changeup is developing and is currently the third pitch in his repertoire. With continued physical maturity, control will continue to improve. He’s a high-upside get for a school, as the right-hander has the ingredients to develop into a solid pitcher in college. Lots to like with Spoljaric.
