Ontario Insider: Top Uncommitted Class of 2018 Right-Handed Pitchers
Evan Chenier RHP / Christ the King, ON / 2018Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 3
Report: Chenier has evolved into one of the top arms in the province with a strong 6-foot-5, 215-pound frame. He repeats his delivery and arm slot with good tempo and rhythm, works quick, throwing strikes with three pitches. Have seen him up to 91 indoors and worked in the upper 80’s in his first outing of the year. Curveball has 11/5 shape and was able to generate swings and misses in the 76-78 range, used changeup well and worked off of fastball, staying down in the zone. Receiving Interest: There was quite the number of Division 1 schools in Florida for his start, and many were impressed. 2018 Outlook: Chenier will be a one of the top arms in the CPBL and should have some eyes on him in his early appearances in May. If he stays durable, Chenier will be an inning eater for OBJ with a chance to pile up strikeouts. D1 arm with mound presence with stuff and pitchability. |
