Continuing at our look at the top uncommitted underclassmen from Ontario, today we take a look at the top outfield prospects, headlined by Ontario Blue Jays centre fielder and 2017 grad Cooper Davis.
The 5-foot-10, 168-pound outfielder made headlines this year at Tournament 12 in September. By setting the bar during 60’s on scout day with a 6.45, Davis made sure that he would be a known commodity by weeks end. The left-handed hitting Davis keeps a short, simple approach at the plate showing strong hand-eye coordination with the bat. A line drive swing that stays flat through the zone, Davis does a good job of putting the ball in play and using his speed to leg out infield hits. During T12, Davis also laid down a beautiful bunt late in the game, for a base hit in a critical situation.
