Kieran Pook OF / OF / ST Thomas Aquinas, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 31 / POS: 6
Report: At the plate, Pook works with a short leg lift, drives off his backside, maintaining his posture and staying balanced. The swing works freely, with looseness and bat speed, the bat path works on-plane smoothly through the hitting zone with extension out front. There's more hit over power, but he will tap into gap-to-gap power at times. He can handle velocity and has the makings in place to be a contributing offensive player at the next level. Solid runner, has been up to 6.70. Could see time in all three outfield spots, displays body control and correct footwork, allowing him to cut balls off and set himself up for throws. Profiles best in a corner. Pook will be a nice addition for a club, and shouldn't be available long. |
Cameron Lugtenburg OF / RHP / St. Stephens Catholic School, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 37 / POS: 9
Report: Lugtenburg, listed at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds, has plenty of room to add strength to an athletic frame. He was one of the biggest standouts at our events this winter. At the plate, it’s a left-handed swing with bat speed, and a repeatable bat path with lift. He works gap-to-gap with line-drives, and has hit in-game. He profiles as a right-fielder with arm strength that’s been up to 93, and good movements. 7.25 60 runner. He’s a guy who has made huge strides on both sides, and there’s more in the tank. |
Glenn Noronha OF / 2B / St. Aloysius Gonzaga, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 39 / POS: 10
Report: Speedy outfielder, Noronha is 5-foot-8, 150-pounds. He’s an outfielder who cuts the gaps, moving well with above-average speed. Arm works with accuracy and developing arm strength. Threat on the bases, wants to utilize his speed and impact the game on the basepaths. Bat-to-ball guy who looks to spray the ball with a flat path, there’s some bat speed, and he makes solid line-drive contact. Noronha is someone who will provide value for a team at the next level in multiple ways. |
Jake Bucovetsky OF / RHP / Northern Secoundary school, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 32 / POS: 7
Report: A 6-foot, 190-pound left-handed hitter, Bucovetsky is a bat-first uncommitted outfielder. It’s a left-handed swing with simplified body movements, an upward bat path with an intent to elevate the baseball. There’s strength, and he has the ability to drive the ball to the gaps both ways. When he catches the ball out front, there’s pull-side power. He’s a corner outfielder, there’s some arm strength, and he holds his own in the outfield. He’d be a good get at this point in the year. |
