Player Spotlight: 2023 Brodie Peart
Scouting Report
2021 Outlook: Peart is a smooth fielding shortstop who stands at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds with long legs and levers that can suggest he is not done growing at all. When watching him play in game, he makes things look easy on the defensive side, and the fact that he isn't the quickest runner right now doesn't seem to hinder him on the dirt as he reads and angles are above his time. The arm has carry and shouldn't be a problem moving forward. At the plate, it is a right-handed stick that starts upright and slightly open. You can tell he has an approach and is working towards an end goal. He does lack strength at the moment which plays into his output right now, but the mechanics and ingredients are there to become a solid offensive performer. When playters make things look easy you take notice and we've seen Peart do just that as someone who has always played up and been able to handle his own.
4/19/20 Peart, a 6-foot-1, 140-pound infielder, is a freshman who we first got a look at during the summer and we recently saw at the New Year Open. He is a ‘23 grad who will be a guy to follow for years to come. His swing works freely, it’s a direct bat path, with bat control. It’s a repeatable swing where he maintains a simple approach. He has the foundation to hit, and with physical development, it’s easy to envision power being a part of his game. The actions in the infield are sound; he displays body control, tempo, and clean glove-to-hand actions, he’s also been 75 across.
