PBR Spotlight Game: West Toronto vs Brampton Royals 17u

Brampton- To kick off the Brampton Early Bird Tournament, the Brampton 17s took on the Wildcats of West Toronto. The Wildcats had an offensive explosion, that continued through the seven inning affair.

Daniel Cirillo got the start for the Royals. After looking sharp early, Cirillo’s stuff seemed to flatten out a little bit. He seemed to have some life on his fastball early but it didn’t hold up late and West Toronto took advantage. Cirillo struggled to command his secondary stuff, and this led to the Wildcats sitting on his fastball which they had success with it.

Offensively for the Royals, Brayden Pecheco was the highlight, going 1-3 with a double and 2 runs scored. Brayden also looked smooth playing a solid third base.

Alex Tabascio got the start for the Wildcats and the lefty was impressive.

Alex worked both sides of the plate, and stayed low in the zone with multiple pitches. He continued to keep the Royals off balance by using a fastball with some run, as well as a fastball with some cut. Alex’s final line was 4 innings pitched, 3 hits, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts, 2 runs (1 earned) and the win.

Offensively the Wildcats struck early and often. Catcher Tommy Nguyen liked hitting at Dave Dash park. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs, 3 runs and 2 runs batted in. Teammates Dennis Dei Baning and Michael Cecchetto joined in the long ball fun, also hitting home runs.

West Toronto got the win, with the final 9-6.
