Ontario Insider: 2015's Turn the Calender

Each year it seems like there is a crop of baseball players in Ontario that for one reason or another choose to stay back for a so called “victory lap” that allows them to play another year of travel baseball here in Ontario. Whether it be they are still eligible to compete from an age standpoint, want to work to improve their academics, their physicality, or to fine tune their mechanics, as well many other reasons that could come into play.

We have come to find out that there is no right or wrong answer to this, as each individual in baseball has their own path to where this beautiful game will take them. What we do know is that these players, (with some who are eligible to begin their collegiate careers right now) are typically more hungry than ever, and are possessed and poised to do what they can to get what they covet.

Below we highlight some of the players who have decided to stay back for an extra year, and we will continue to take a look over the next few days at some of the other 2015 grads who are still in the province with names like: Austin Shields, Reese O’Farrell, Jesse Elliott, David Castillo, and others.
