Nations Capital Scout Day - Sneak Peek

We take a look at some of the players who have stood from our Nations Capital Scout Day that took place last week between both the Ottawa Knights and the Ottawa Canadians. Players went through their normal workout with Rapsodo units being used for extra data for both offensive BP and for pitchers bullpens.
Below are four young prospects to keep an eye on moving forward and should be follows for coaches everywhere.

Jacob Forgues C / RHP / Woodroffe , ON / 2020Report: Forgues, a 5-foot-11, 155-pound catcher/right-hander for the Ottawa Knights was impressive on Wednesday in the Nation’s Capital. On the mound, Forgues sat 82-83 mph with a 68-70 curveball. It's a quick-paced delivery with intent towards the plate. His arm works cleanly with looseness and whip; there is more velo to come with strength addition. He flashed a pair of curveballs with shape; it lacks consistency as of now but could be a useful pitch for him down the road. At the plate, his swing is short with a flat path. There is some bat speed to work with and an 83 exit velocity as a result. His catch and throw skills are fairly sound, he was in the 1.93-2.09 range and was up to 76 mph across when he didn't rush his throws. An interesting two-way player with tools to work with on both sides of the ball.

Samuel Dube 1B / OF / Garneau , ON / 2022Report: Dube, a broad-shouldered, physical, 6-foot-3, 190-pound first-baseman/outfielder showed well during Scout Day. Dube’s frame and wingspan plays well at first base, where he showed the ability to cover a large amount of space. Dube is also an outfielder who looked sound while taking his reps. The bat will be his carrying tool, and on Wednesday, he showcased some power, sending a couple of pitches 300+ feet away with an 85.3 exit velocity in his BP round. His barrel works freely through the zone and is fairly controlled as well. As he learns to use his body better, Dube will continue to develop as a hitter and power threat. He is a must-follow out of the Nepean Canadians program.

Owen Constantineau 1B / 3B / Colonel By, ON / 2022Report: 2022 Owen Constantineau was a standout in Ottawa, showcasing one of the better bats of the day. A 5-foot-11,185-pound corner infielder, Constantineau’s value is in the box where his left-handed swing plays. He is balanced, and stays back, looking to get his bat head out front and let his strength take over. He was 84 mph of the tee, and it’s clear the makings are there at the plate. Like many young hitters, getting to the point of repeatability with his swing will be crucial, and development athletically will allow him to use his body more efficiently. Constantineau is another position player with power potential out of Ottawa.

Domenico Vizzari OF / SS / St Pius X, ON / 2022Report: Vizzari, a 5-foot-9, 135-pound outfielder was one of the more athletic players on-site in Ottawa. He led off the day running a 6.93 60 yard dash with ease, later translating those actions in his outfield round where he generated a 72 mph throwing velocity as well. His actions at the plate were loose and controlled in his lower half; his lack of current strength resulted in him dragging with his upper half. He managed to top out at 76 mph off the tee, and it’s easy to see that number jumping with development as he is just a 2022 grad. There is a lot to like with Vizzari, and there is reason to believe he could develop into a strong player in his class with maturity.
