For the second year in a row, Canada brought a team to the NorthEast Senior Games, this time taking place in Cortland, New York. We had a loaded roster, made up predominantly of Ontario players and 2023/2024 prospects.

Below, we highlight the standouts from the event.

Maddox Shaver SS / OF / Eastside Secondary School, ON / 2023

Shaver didn't disappoint on the day as he was one of the big standouts at the North East Senior Games. At the plate Shaver barreled up every ball to all parts of the field. The swing was compact, showed some pop to the opposite field with a homerun and proved to be a tough out for opposing pitchers. In the field Shaver was all over the place gunning out a runner at third, showing off his arm strength that has taken major strides. At 5 foot-10. 170 pounds Shaver will have a lot of eyes on him from college programs.

Julian Robertson RHP / GW Williams SS, ON / 2024

Roberson, a long 6-foot-6, 180 pounds did not disappoint on the mound during game 1 for Canada Selects. Roberson showed off all his tools on the mound with a long athletic arm action that was tough for hitters to pick up all day. The fastball got on hitters quick, the curveball had lots of depth to it making hitters chance throughout the day.

Tyler Pridham SS / OF / Aurora, ON / 2024

Pridham, a 6- foot 170 pound SS/C showed off all his tools on Day 1 of the NE Senior Games for PBR Canada. In the field Pridham moved well, turned a few tough double plays and showed off his arm strength on the left side of the infield. In the box he was hitting the ball hard all day. The swing was balanced and flat with good extension towards the baseball. Pridham would be a big time pick up for a school looking for a sound middle infielder.

Tarek Emara OF / St. Marys Catholic Secondary School, ON / 2023

Emera, 5-foot-9, 160-pounds, was the most consistent hitter in the box during Day 1 of the NE Senior Games for PBR Canada. His short, compact swing allows him to hit line drives consistently up the middle and to the pull side. He patrolled CF with no issues, but his bat is what will carry him to the next level.

Jack Ferguson RHP / Thomas A Stewart Secondary, ON / 2023

Ferguson got the start in Game 2 of the NE Senior Games and made college recruiters look twice. The RHP was all over the zone sitting 84-86 with ASR on the FB, a tight SL and CH. He bounces off the mound with athletic actions and shows pitchability and compete. Ferguson is one of the more intriguing uncommitted ‘23 arms that will gain some college attention after his performance today.

Nolan Keating C / SS / Holy Cross Catholic Secondary, ON / 2023

Keating showed well in all aspects of his game during Day 1 at the NE Senior Games. In the box, is a short, direct path to the ball that generates line drives to all fields. Once he got on base, he wasted no time, taking off for 2B safely within the next few pitches. In the infield, he made the routine plays with ease. Behind the dish, he receives well and has an arm that carries to 2B. Keating plays the game the right way and should be on your radar.

Ethan Ralph SS / RHP / Riverdale , ON / 2023

Ralph, a 5-foot-11 165 pound SS had a strong showing on the day making some impressive plays in the infield. In the box Ralph was a tough out for pitchers all day. The swing was loaded, limited moving parts. Had a few base hits to the pull side capped off with a double down the right field line. In the field Ralph made the hard plays look easy moving well side to side, had some carry on his throws and had a quick transfer out of the glove.

Will Timpano C / 3B / Patrick Fogarty Catholic, ON / 2024

Timpano, 5-foot-10, 195 pound catcher that showed off his skills on both sides of the field. Behind the plate the receiving was quiet, stole some pitches throughout the day and had a quick transfer out of the hand. At the plate Timpano lived mostly up the middle with a few loud hits up the middle. Has shown his power potential throughout the week in Cortland Ny and have looked at home behind the plate.

Garrett Burke 3B / 1B / The Winchendon School, MA / 2023

Burke, 6-foot-1, 215-pounds, was a physical presence in the box on Day 1 for PBR Canada. Burke made consistent hard contact throughout the day from the left side, capped off by a line drive ground rule double over the RF’s head. Very physical in the box, and moves well around the diamond for his size. Burke could easily be a late addition to a program that would make an immediate impact at the plate.

Duncan Cullinane C / OF / Portsmouth NH , NH / 2023

Cullinane, 5-foot-9, 175-pounds, was a steady presence in the field during the NE Senior Games. At 2B, he made several plays on hard hit ball, with his best being starting an inning ending double play. Behind the dish, he is agile and has the ability to make difficult blocks to his sides. He works under the ball well when receiving. The swing is compact and quick, the ball jumps off his bat when he catches it out front. Cullinane is a utility guy that can help a college program at the next level.
