With the first edition of the 2020 rankings being released, we come to learn quickly that this is a talented class with tons of upside and projectability. We currently have ranked the top 35 players from what our staff has scene, with the list continuing to grow as we get closer and closer towards baseball activities in Ontario.Below we have the Top 35, while taking an in-depth look at each individual prospect within the Top 10.
The Top Spot
One thing you notice right away is the number of left-handed arms in the top 15 as five left-handers make the cut. That said, right-hander Stephen Kinal of the Ontario Blue Jays is your #1 prospect today in the 2020 class.

Stephen Kinal RHP / Christ the King, ON / 2020Kinal first jumped on the scene at our Freshman event where he touched 87 mph with his fastball and has recently been as high as 88 mph. The 6-foot-2, 235-pound righty has an up-tempo delivery from a ¾ slot with downward plane to his fastball. He has smoothed out his delivery over the last year, showing the ability to repeat while his feel and command of the strike zone and his secondary stuff has improved. A competitor on the mound who does not waste time and attacks hitters, Kinal sets the tone for the rest of the 2020 class. |

Graham MacNeil 3B / RHP / Brooklin, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 2 / POS: 1
Following Kinal is 3B/RHP Graham MacNeil as the top position player. MacNeil was one of the youngest players in attendance this year at the PBR Future Games as a 14 year old, and was able to hold his own against some of the best players in North America. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder has pop in his bat from the right side and had one of the highest exit velocities of the Future Games event at 98 mph. The swing has strength with natural lift and the ball is different coming off the bat. MacNeil was 85 across the diamond and has shown he can jump on the mound and spin the ball while the fastball works in the low-80s. |

Ellis is 6-foot-2 with a clean arm and lots of room to make strength gains and add velocity. He shows feel for the strike zone and his secondary stuff. |

Tiago Gulino-Guerreiro LHP / OF / Mayfield secondary school, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 2
Tiago is a physical monster at 6-foot-4, 200-pounds and with a strong lower half and a repeatable delivery. Both pitchers will gain velocity as they mature and add strength and look to be a dominant force in Ontario for years to come. |
Quick-Twitch MIF at #5

Bryce Arnold SS / 2B / Blessed Trinity, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 1
Bryce Arnold is the first middle infielder to appear at number five. A little undersized at the moment but his game is complete opposite of that. Twitchy actions with bat speed and arm strength, the swing is quick with a quiet setup and is able to keep the barrel in the zone while getting extended through contact. The hands are soft defensively and Arnold can make the game look easy at times with plenty of confidence in his glove. He runs a 7.15 60-yard dash which will get quicker as he matures and Arnold’s actions suggest he will stay up the middle with a chance to be an impact bat. |
Two More Arms in Top 10
Six through ten see’s arms from both sides with righty Matthew Duffy at number 7 while left-hander Connor O’Halloran is your number 9 ranked player in the class and the third lefty to crack the list. Both spin the curveball well while Duffy has athleticism on the mound and O’Halloran is loose and easy with minimal effort and clean actions from start to finish.

Josh Niles, a left-handed hitting outfielder out of Great Lake Canadians organization is your number six ranked player. Niles will only get stronger as the 6-foot-2, 165-pounder has the frame to carry more weight and strength which could lead into more pop from the left side |

Owen Dobosh SS / OF / St. Edmund Campion, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 2
6-foot-2 shortstop Owen Dobosh from the Brampton Royals is number eight. Dobosh is a toolsy player with strength in his frame and good feel in the infield with bat speed at the plate. |
Speed Rounds Out Top 10

Riley Silva OF / St. Benedict, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 1
Rounding out the top 10 is Riley Silva. Silva ran a flat 6.80 60-yard dash recently this past November and is one player with bounce and athletic actions that you look for in the younger age groups. The Great Lake Canadian is only going to get stronger at 5-foot-10, 145-pounds and the extra strength, although not always goes this way, could make him even quicker. |

With the way baseball in Ontario, and Canada for the matter is trending, you can expect to see big gains over the winter with this class with more and more club teams take their training to the next level. This should be a really exciting class to follow and for college coaches to get to know.
