Bloodlines in Ontario - Ontario Brothers on the Rise
We take a look at some of the brotherly connection going on in Ontario right now with olde brothers off at school or in professional baseball, these young prospects all have someone who has been in their position before which is always nice to have.
We take a look at the “little brother” right now with six prospects looking to create their own path.
Taeg Gollert SS / OF / Humberside, ON / 2021Rankings StateRank: 43 / POS: 9
Report: Taeg, the brother of Austin Peay left-hander and former 7th ranked player on the 2017 list Harley Gollert, is an infielder for the Ontario Blue Jays. Gollert is a 5-foot-10 middle infielder with quickness and athleticism to his game. At the plate, he features an unusual setup where he starts with his barrel way forward before loading back and driving with his lower half. Gollert has a real quick bat through the zone and will generate exit velocities up to 78 mph. The swing will need to be tweaked allowing Gollert to get into slot earlier and have a more consistent path. He moves well in the infield to his left and right, getting into position early and effectively allowing him to make the routine plays. His physical development will control which side of second he plays at, but he’ll be able to stick in the middle at the next level either way. With Gollert’s athletic ability, he will be able to make adjustments and advancements throughout his high school years. |
