OSSAA Team Preview: Washington Warriors
February 28, 2024
Team: Washington Warriors
2023 Record: 32-5
Classification: 3A
Head Coach: Jeff Kulbet
Total Runs: 373/94
Average Runs: 10.08/2.54
Average Differential: 7.54
Outlook:
The Washington Warriors are coming off a 2023 season that saw them capture their second consecutive 3A State Title. The Warriors lost some key names in the ‘23 class like Camden Bates and Kane Springer, but still looks to be one of the dominant teams in the 3A division. Washington has to be one of the favorites to win their third consecutive title the same way they did it in the past few years, with the bats. The Warriors have some high level prospects and have some multi-sport talent that contribute to that mix as well. With the strong average run differential of 7.54 runs a game in 2023, they've proven themselves over the past couple of years to be one of the top programs in the state regardless of class and is the favorite in 3A heading into the 2024 campaign.

2024 INF @MccaskillDax (Washington) continues to impress showing big power potential w/exit velos up to 102.8 mph using his strong leverage
Showed off the athleticism again running a 6.68 making him a must follow prospect pic.twitter.com/Ij1jtD61O1
The do it all prospect locked up his commitment to Houston in the fall after a big junior season. McCaskill has an impressive mix of power and speed reaching a 102.8 exit velo while adding a 6.63 sixty time. McCaskill has the ability to play anywhere on the field including both corner infield spots and can spend time in the outfield as well. His name has started to catch some buzz with MLB scouts in the recent weeks and with his production with the bat, is also on our list for potential Player of the Year honors.
Marlon Moore, 2024, INF, Cowley Commit

Moore has been the everyday 2B most of his high school career behind one of the best defenders in the state but looks to finally move over to the SS spot for his senior campaign. The quick twitch athlete uses a smooth RH swing as a high contact threat while also showing some power potential. Moore is one of the best defenders in the class up the middle as he will get a chance to do it at the SS position for his final HS season. Moore will also be a contributor on the mound for the Warriors as a mid 80’s strike thrower and has proven to miss bats a high level.
