Top Prospect Upperclass Games: Quick Hits

On June 6th we hosted the Top Prospect Upperclass Games at UCO featuring 50 players from the 2024 and 2025 classes from all across the state. We had a traditional showcase portion featuring laser timed 60's, BP with data captured by Trackman and Blast Motion, defensive evaluations with radar gun readings, and topped it off with a simulated game with pitcher's throwing to live hitters and Trackman data being captured. We will get deeper into the some of the leaders in the showcase metrics in the coming days, but today we take a quick look at a couple of standouts from the event with notes on 17 guys who had strong days. The event was flooded with high end talent with players that schools need to circle to follow and a couple that schools should try to lock up in the near future.

Dax McCaskill 3B / 1B / Washington, OK / 2024

McCaskill continues to impress with his big tools making him one of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the region. We've talked extensively in the past few months about his speed and power combo running a 6.68 and going 103 exit velo during BP. At 6-foot-1 and 190-pounds, McCaskill has the type of skills and tools that can be used in a variety of ways for teams at the next level and should be atop anyone's recruiting board that still has room for 2024's.

Rhett Winchester OF / Edmond Memorial, OK / 2025

Winchester burst onto the scene as a freshman having impact at bats for Edmond Memorial down the stretch in 2022 and has done nothing but to continue to improve his game. Running a 6.67 in the 60 and showing an 85 mph arm from the outfield gives him a future center fielder profile as someone who can cover a ton of ground. With the bat, Winchester continues to make jumps with a more fluid swing and showing some serious strength at contact that paired with his speed can create nightmares for future opposing defenses.

Will Lundquist SS / OF / Norman North, OK / 2025

There are a few ways to standout at showcase that features many talented players from all across the state but one of the easiest is running a laser timed 6.38 60. Lundquist not only has the elite straight line running speed but shows the ability to cut corners on the bases with strong instincts making him an absolute weapon for any offense. The MIF/OF showed smooth movements in the field including running down a ball in deep right center field that only a few in the country could get to as well as a nice, controlled swing with exit velos up to 88 mph.

Joey McLaughlin OF / LHP / Harrah, OK / 2025

It is always fun to see guys make big jumps in a short amount of time, which is exactly what we saw from McLaughlin, raising his stock after one of the more impressive days at the event. McLaughlin ran a 6.77 beating his time he ran back in October by almost 3 full tenths. The LHH showed some serious strength at contact with a quick twitch swing reaching exit velocities up to 100 mph from the left side. At 6-foot-3 and 185-pounds, the OFer from Harrah should start to see people take a little more interest in the coming months as one of the more projectable bats in the class.

Gamaliel Jones OF / OF / Union , OK / 2024

Jones is coming off a strong spring for the Redhawks and continues to make strong strides when it comes to his tools. Jones ran a 6.79 60 and started to show more pop in the bat reaching exit velocities up to 90 mph. The left-handed hitter shows some of the better barrel control skills in the class and with his added strength at the plate, is starting to show what type of impact he can have for a lineup at the next level.

Robert Evans C / OF / Norman North, OK / 2024

Evans had a strong showing both at the plate and behind it excelling in both the showcase portion of the event as well as shining in the game. Evans has one of the stronger arms from behind the plate in the class getting up to an impressive 79 mph from the crouch that yielded pop times at 1.94-2.02. He showed that it wasn't just a showcase pop that he has mastered, erasing a would be base stealer in the game with ease using his quick release and advanced carry to the bag. At the plate he continues to show off his strength with exit velocities up to 96 mph and ball jumping off the bat with a level bat path and line drive approach.

Boden Miller C / RHP / Fairview , OK / 2025

The 2025 backstop impressed at the event with the ball jumping out of the hand from behind the plate at 79 mph that yielded pop times as quick as 2.07. With his arm strength, it would not be tough to see that pop time come down in the future as he continues to work on quickening up the release some. With the bat he put on a show during BP with exit velocities up to 96 mph. Miller has the type of build at 5'11 and 190 pounds that works well behind the plate and with his current strength, don't be surprised to see more jumps in the future as he gets more experience under his belt.

Beckett Robinson OF / C / Tahlequah , OK / 2025

Robinson showed why he is considered amongst the best in the 2025 class with high-end tools that will only continue to get better thanks to his elite athleticism. The 6.88 60 doesn't tell the story with how is speed finds its way to play up at a higher level and he showed off some serious arm strength in the outfield reaching up to 90 mph. At the plate, Robinson reached exit velocities up to 95 mph with a loose swing and strong bat speed. At 6-foot-1 and 180-pounds, be on the lookout for Robinson in the coming years as he continues to develop his craft.

Brody Wicker 2B / RHP / Ponca City, OK / 2024

Each time we see Wicker on the diamond he finds a way to impress and this event was no exception. Wicker showed off one of the better built swings at the event that allowed exit velocities up to 93 mph and showing some potential power in the future. He also showed off his big arm from the infield delivering an event best 88 mph from across the diamond. Wicker has the ability to play almost any where on the field and should be one for recruiters at the next level to circle to watch in the coming weeks.

Carter Sterling SS / 3B / Oklahoma Christian, OK / 2024

Sterling had a strong spring for Oklahoma Christian and followed that up with another strong performance at our event. The power hitting infielder reached exit velocities up to 92 mph and had one of the stronger more consistent rounds of BP throughout the day. What stands out when you watch Sterling play is his ability to make tough plays look easy and has the type of build and feet to remain on the left side of the infield at the next level. Sterling's bat is one of the more projectable tools in the class and should be one for scouts at the next level to take a closer look at.

Charlie Tolle 3B / RHP / Bethany, OK / 2025

Tolle continues to make jumps each time we see him on both sides of the ball as he continues to grow and add more strength to his frame. Tolle started his day off running a 6.97 in the 60 and going 86 mph across the diamond from short. The right-handed hitter worked exit velos up to 89 mph with strong leverage and it wouldn't be shocking to see that number much higher in the future. Tolle would then take the mound and work the fastball up to 85 mph with a loose arm action and excellent hand speed. He paired the fastball with a sweeping 68-71 mph curveball that had big shape and tight spin. He showed strong command of all his pitches and with his hand speed where its at right now, don' be surprised if he continues to see big jumps on the mound in the coming years.

Mason Pickering C / 1B / Oktaha, OK / 2025

Pickering continues to impress both in how he is developing his frame and his high end skill set from both behind the plate and in the left-handed hitter's box. Standing at 6-foot-1 and 195-pounds already, Pickering uses his natural leverage at the plate to drive balls to both gaps with exit velocities up to 92 mph and an average of 87 mph throughout his round. Pickering has an accurate arm to the bag from behind the plate and ball shows strong carry with his top pop time at this event coming in at 1.95. Left-handed hitting catchers that can both hit and catch will always be in high demand and Pickering is showing all those types of skills and tools schools at the next level are looking for.

WHAETLY CHALOUPEK RHP / C / Enid, OK / 2025

Chaloupek is coming off helping his Enid Plainsmen to a runner up finish in the 6A State Tournament and had an eye popping performance on the mound in this event. We've seen the ability for him to put on a show with the bat in the past and this one was no different with a 98 mph exit and 88 mph average during BP. As impressive as that is, his work on the mound was the story for his day working the fastball up to 88 mph and showing the ability to pound the zone with the "rising" action. He showed an improved slider in the 76-79 mph range with an average spin rate at 2369 and feel for a fading change up at 76-79 mph.

Wyatt Fitzgerald RHP / OF / Oklahoma Christian, OK / 2025

Fitzgerald certainly looks the part when you see him take the pound with a physical 6-foot-3 and 180-pound frame that has a future starter's profile. He worked the fastball up to 85 mph and showed a potential swing and miss slider in the 76-78 range with late action and depth. Don't be surprised to see him have big velo jumps in the future as he continues to grow into his frame and when it comes, along with the tight slider, Fitzgerald has a chance to be one of the more projectable arms in the class.

Brandon Green RHP / C / Edmond North, OK / 2025

Green has been on the steady climb in his game over the past couple of years and really started to make a jump especially on the mound. Green came right after hitters with his 82-85 mph fastball that jumped onto hitters quickly and showed a feel for the 71-74 mph slider in the zone. Green also would go on to set a couple of PBR bests for him with a 7.47 60, 76 mph from behind the dish, and pop times as low as 1.97.

Vaughan McIntyre C / OF / Edmond Santa Fe, OK / 2025

McIntyre started his high school career as a "scrappy" "gamer" type of player. While everyone should strive to have their name associated with those two monikers, McInttyre is starting to show more tools in the bag with a strong left-handed swing and exit velocities up to 89 mph. His flexibility behind the plate is a strong skill set and he showed a big arm going 78 mph and pop times as low as 1.93 on the day. If McIntrye continues to add strength to his frame, keep an eye on him in the future as he already has a lot of those immeasurable traits coaches are looking for at the next level.

Grayson Barnes 1B / RHP / Tuttle , OK / 2024

Barnes has always shown the ability to compete on the mound at a high level with his sinking fastball and feel for tight cutting slider. He's starting to see a little velo jump in the past couple of weeks working up to 88 mph with the fastball and his usual high level of command. Standing at 6-foot-3 and 200-pounds, Barnes has the type of starter's build that should continue to add strength and should be one for recruiters at the next level to circle to follow in the coming weeks.
